Dreadful customer service from Tesla
So I've been trying to book a test drive for a Tesla X.
As we live in darkest Surrey, the nearest options are Heathrow or Park Royal
I booked a drive at Heathrow for two weeks ago. Got a phone call from the Tesla call centre on the morning to cancel - no reason given. And again, I have a test drive booked at Park Royal for today and just took a call from the Tesla call centre to cancel - again no reason given
Is this poor customer service typical of Tesla? It doesnt inspire confidence if I am expected to hand over north of £80k for the car

Could you call the dealership & just enquire why they have cancelled?0

Dear OP
I'm not saying the dealer is doing this but in our own experience, a dealer, sales person will cancel your test drive if they have an exisiting customer like us where they know we will almost cert buy. However, we rarely test drive and have been on both ends of the stick
The other problem may be is logistics - the car is out at another garge as usally test drive cars are the highest specs for reasons we all know and with this covid thing people are off sick, waiting for reuslts etc.
Give the dealer a call and if you dont get far, avoid, avoid, avoid as after sales is import as you already know

Bte - it is poor show and staff need training IMO0

In the current circumstances you can't expect everything to be as normal - they may have fewer staff at short notice, some 'infected' cars or any other manner of issues.
Poor customer service would have been to let you turn up without telling you it was cancelled0 -

Op tuning up and not being told is porr showing indeed but so is the reason for not cancelling - its politness, manners and keeping a potential customer.0 -

So sales people are psychic now ?

They often cancel test drives because the demonstrator isn't available and that usually because it's being loaned out.0

Some car dealers have found COVID difficult. When I was test driving in August at least one dealer said that I had to put down a deposit before he would arrange a test drive (this was on a brand new BMW). Needless to say I told him where to go and went to another dealer.
They aren't allowed to accompany cutomers on test drives at the moment and all visits to showrooms have to be by appointment it seems. If a salesman goes sick it could simply be that there isn't anyone to service you.0
