in Water bills
Good Morning
We've just had our annual water bill land on the doormat, and this year it says that we have used 78m3. Just 2 adults.
On checking against our recent annual usages, this has been very steady over the years and has been 71, 69, 67, 67 over the last 4 years.
Obviously this year we've been here nearly all the time, and what with the additional handwashing, could that have accounted for the additional 7m3 of water used this year.
Usually we'd have had approx. 28 days away from home on holidays etc. where we'd obviously be showering and flushing away from home. Although to counter this DH hasn't washed the car as often, as it hasn't been far!
Just wondered if anyone is seeing this sort of increase in usage for 2019-20, and that we don't have a leak problem instead.
Cheers.

How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 3.35% of current retirement "pot" (as at end September 2023)

I’d say perfectly normal, based on ours having gone up 17% (estimated based on monthly reads) this year. More home use, no weeks away on holiday using someone else’s water!1

Thanks for that Tim.
Anyone else?
Seems these sub-forums are a little on the quiet side...compared to some. How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 3.35% of current retirement "pot" (as at end September 2023)0 -
You've answered your own question. 28 days alone is 8% - then add in being at home more.Never pay on an estimated bill1

Doh, thanks Robin. I didn't spot that (or make that calculation). I'll get back in my box!!
Still be interested to know what level of additional use is being felt around the country and if we are "ball park"?How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 3.35% of current retirement "pot" (as at end September 2023)0
