Help, I really don't know where I stand (Scotland - Greece)

Last November we booked a holiday to Rhodes starting on the 3rd October.
We now don't know what to do as the Scottish Government is saying not to travel and if you do there is a fourteen day quarantine.
But
The UK government is currently saying it is currently fine.
We have tried to move our holiday to next year or get a refund credit, and we are being told we can't as the FCDO says it is fine to travel to Rhodes.
It is a lot of money for us, to loose.
We booked with Love Holiday and thought we were getting a package deal, they are now saying that the flight and holiday are separate and TUI are still running the flight from Glasgow.
My work is saying that it is not on, to go away knowing I will have to quarantine when I get back. ( and I sort of agree with that)
What can we do ?
Could we claim on our insurance?

There's likely to be 3 announcements from Westminster regarding updated lists of places you can travel to without having to quarantine on return before you go, so it might be one of them will affect whether or not you can get a refund.1 -
Your options are fairly clear. Go and quarantine on return (As things stand), or do not go and lose your money. Rhodes looks extremely safe on the govt thresholds as things stand so unlikely to be added to FCO no go areas.
Best hope I predict is that Scotland revises its rules for Greece and/or some of the islands in next couple of weeks.
There is certainly no avenue of getting a refund via any route as things stand.0 -
Work is the issue. Could you have your holiday and take more leave to quarantine?I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Spoke to TUI yesterday to see if we could postpone the flight to a later date and got told NO.
Really disappointed that we can't move it especially as we are in Scotland and are being told not to go there.0 -

Any chance you live near enough to the border that you could stay somewhere cheap in England and commute to work?I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. At the end of the day the choice lies with you; you need to weigh up the pros and cons.
It's a very unique situation we all find ourselves in; and we have to remember that if tour operators were forced to move all holidays free-of-charge most would likely go bust.0 -
It is not even actually advice not to travel. It is instructions on what to do when you return. Your problem is with Nicola Sturgeon and her approach to Greece and its Islands.
Strangely in todays briefing she has gone 100% in line with Grant Schapps new weekly changes.

Well we are still in the same position, still hoping the Scottish government or FCDO bring their policies in line or else we are set to loose a lot of money ( a lot for us anyway).
It is really stressing me out, plus Love Holiday has closed all it's phone lines so you can only do the "Chat" thing, if you can actually get on it.0
