Thanks. This is what I said also but there is a poster on here who disagrees although they haven't provided any examples despite being asked. I don't think there's any point in debating it any further with them though as it hasn't got anywhere.

Although the limit could have been the maximum amount the institution was prepared to accept from a single depositor, measured in millions.

As it stands at the moment, after 12 April 2021, there will no instant access account offering more than 0.50% for new customers for balances above £5,000.

We can't be sure of this. Some providers may introduce new accounts that do.

And they will appear on this forum within minutes of being launched. If they are any good, they will be withdrawn for new customers within a matter of days.

I'm keeping my 'waiting for the next RS SOs cash' in Lloyds (£5K - 0.78%), Skipton (0.65%) and Marcus (0.50%).
Not unhappy with that in the circs.

Not dissimilar. Virgin (2%), Skipton (0.65%), Marcus (0.50%), Saffron (0.50%).

Also, the 0.65% includes a 0.5% bonus which lasts until September, so the underlying rate is a mere 0.15%.

Time to bump this if you have a > 0.65% plan B.
