We had 6 cats taken off our vans a year or two ago. Rang up the main dealers for a price (not cheap) and was told that they are on back order and the next four that were due in were going on their own stock that had been hit.
With regards to the police, we handed over the cctv footage (in which you can clearly see the faces and reg plates of those involved) yet were informed there is little they could/would do.
Those involved were of a certain section of society that pretend to move around and the police are afraid of dealing with.
    Hi
    Sorry to hear about that.
IMHO, it is important to report to the police as I have already stated and others have then said the same that people get to know
I think I'm the only one that touched on interactive maps the police do that tells you what types of crimes in your area month by month.
The police are hard pushed be victims do need to tell them so they can apply for more police officers/etc.

Yeah once they get another 19,000 new cops they'll be back to 2010 numbers. From memory they weren't that good with vehicle crime then.
  • Are you sure it wasnt the dinosaurs that come up from the lake and bit it off ? Many a happy hour spent there as kids still go back now when in London . My mother saw it burn down in 1936 reckon you could see the glow from Brighton 50 miles away. Ive got alot of old photographs of it . The prob with CATS is if the scrap dealers didnt take them they wouldnt steal them Id inform insurance . I presume you parked up by the collonade?

If you report it then you will have to report it to your insurers also and if you change your insurers, for the next 5 years it may effect your premium.
You mean should not will have to.
No I stand by my original statement, go on record to the Police then you WILL HAVE to go on record to your insurers to be 100% fire proof for future claims.

Thanks for the correction suggestion though.
From the following posts its apparent that you're guessing.
    My correction still stands.
    Great....
It wasn't for you to assess

Really?  As the OP is not making a claim, I am confused why the OP needs to tell inc co.
    Thanks.
Because they have had a loss........dont worry about it though, everything will be ok.

    The Meerkats ask...
    "Claims
Have you had any motor accidents, claims or losses in the past 5 years, no matter who was at fault or if a claim was made?"
    ...with an explanatory note saying...
    "
It is really important to tell us about any claims (including unsettled claims), accidents or losses that are motor vehicle related."

Total waste of time unless you are claiming on insurace. If you want to pay it yourself and not involve insurance stay well clear of any records of the theft.
The police will not be interested. They say they don't have enough resources. Might even be true.
