True. If the OP wishes to be obstinate then that is entirely their right. It doesn't mean that their position is correct though, and checking that request may lead them to reconsider. :)

"Look, it was delivered by Dennis Bergkamp, riding a sit-up-and-beg bicycle, in his clogs, whistling 'Tulips of Amsterdam' as he approached from his windmill.  It definitely came from The Netherlands."

I am not sure how I can be any clearer that this parcel came from NL, was sent from NL, not from China or USA. I understand that there are customs charges for items arriving from outside EU but strictly these comments are unhelpful.

I might just have to ignore this as querying it would be a lot of effort.
What answer do you want, then?  No one knows any more than you do, people were just trying to eliminate the possible causes of the charge.  Either query it, or ignore it.  No one here has the answer you want.
I thought maybe someone would more than I do. This is why I asked. The clue is in the opening post. I assumed there'd be a simple explanation.

A post NL label, or a post label with a NL return address does NOT mean it shipped from NL.

e.g. I can ship from the UK via a mail forwarder. When the mail forwarder gets the pack they put a post label from the cheapest postal operator globally. They then import into the destination country. so e.g. UK to China, cheapest is Correos, the Spanish postal operator, gets labelled correos, moved to china via another means, when it turns up in China its put in the local post and delivered. The return address has to be a in spain.

So the comments are unhelpful because you don't understand what could have happened.
I think I do understand. However, and let me re-iterate one more time, this parcel has been sent from the NL. These are handmade garments made by someone I know who I have bought from before, who I came across traveling in NL. These are not bought from a Chinese or American company. These were delivered to me in less than two days after shipping and postage was not particularly cheap, there is nothing to indicate they have been to China or America. #

I have no idea why you insist that I am making it up that this is from the NL.

I stubbornly insist that I have bought something from the NL, it has been shipped from there, there is no reason to believe these items have been elsewhere - the label has NL in it, the sender is as clueless as I am. I am fairly sure at this point that the charge has been applied in error. That is much more likely than an airmail-super-fast trip to China and back that has been hidden from the postage label.

Never said it absolutely was sent from another country. I said it could have been.

Had you given the information you did in the above two posts in your opening post we wouldn't have wasted days and pages trying to get to the facts.

I suspect it was, as you state, a mistake.

I have given this information: The parcel came from the NL. I have given a lot more information in the queries. I did not anticipate that people here would not believe me when I said the parcel was from the NL. On the first page someone asked if I am sure the parcel is from NL. I said I was sure of this. Then people insisted it wasn't from the NL for three more pages but sure that's my fault.

    Anyway, thanks for the help.

Those statements are simply untrue.  People didn't disbelieve you, nor did anyone insist the parcel wasn't from the Netherlands.  Lots of people questioned whether you were sure it came from NL because it's entirely possible (based on the information you provided) that it didn't and it was a possible explanation for the unexpected charges.
  • As I said on the first page of this thread, I am sure the parcel is from the NL.
