Alt Are you going to take your son to see the T Rex at Wollaton Hall?
It isn't cheap and looking at the next couple of weekends it's full.If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.2 -
@Grumpelstiltskin my wife is taking him and two of his friends over summer break. Funny what mine and your ideas of cheap days out are though ha I thought it was quite a cheap day tbf! 😆2

This could be a cheapish day out. Especially if you go in the MG

@Grumpelstiltskin ha my mate who’ve we’ve got the MG off already sent me that. 👍 £14 def is a cheap day you and I must agree there ha?
Planning a few free days over summer too - get out for some walks. Looking forward to that the most tbh I really enjoy a good walk just get away from it all and get some exercise too. I’m going to have the odd day off from the business son doesn’t know yet but essentially planned to do 4 day weeks for summer hols. Wife promised she won’t have other people’s kids round when I’m off too just hope it actually works that way.4 -
Regarding travelling. There is talk that if you have had both vaccines, and travelling to an amber country you won't have to quarantine on your return. However you would still have to have a PCR test before returning to the UK plus another test on your 2nd day back. However at the moment it is hearsay so who knows where it will go. As your son is young don't think he will need tests but that might depend on the policies in Greece.
We hope to get to Turkey, we have a property there that has been empty since November. Obviously guests who couldn't go last year moved their dates to this year and have now had to move them to next year. We should have been there now for 6 weeks but have had 3 lots of flights cancelled as Turkey remains in red. We have rebooked for mid August but don't feel particularly optimistic.
I thought the whole idea of vaccines was to open up our lives again, obviously not.
As for getting to Shanghai to see our grandchild, another 3 lots of cancelled flights. Those haven't been rebooked. Really hoping that happens in 2022!!1 -
Day 28 through making tomorrow going into the fifth week. No money spent and still no access to money. Still nice for me knowing I can’t do anything stupid it’s safe for me and safe is what I need in my personal life rn. Few staff out for the football this weekend. I don’t even want to go it’s strange I want to be with my family for the match 100%. Have my mate badgering me on the email he’s blocked on everything else can’t take a !!!!!! hint. Don’t get my wrong I want him to be ok and I still hold out some hope he’ll get clean, sort himself out, build a relationship with his kids, find himself a new wife and it’ll be like old times but drug free. Known him all my adult life and it’s !!!!!! hard to cut someone like that from your life. Interesting others on the recovery path with similar mates also had to do it probably one of the biggest things actually believing I’m not responsible for or can control someone else’s problem just my own.Hay fever is really bad for son his eyes were strange again tonight. At least we know what it is. Can’t say I’ve been too well either but nothing like that. Really not fair on a boy his age - can’t get out in the garden much right now. August should be a bit better for him we’re hoping. Generally we’ve been lucky with his health very grateful for that.@amanda_p the uncertainty of it all is tripping me off a bit tbh not knowing one day to the next it almost seems. All seems like rumours until it’s not iyswim?Turkey I can’t see you being able to travel there august time. You were saying about your grandson ages ago, it’s sad you’ve still not been able to see him. Take it that’s my answer about visiting family = not counted as essential travel??3

Just lost a long post re cards fml def wanted a sense check re 0%s ending / meeting RR balloon target which def will involve loading some 0% purchase cards up etc will have to wait until tomorrow now. Have managed to spend a bit of time working things out and not feeling like !!!!!! about it for once. Actually thought I am paying for the past but that's the past and I'm making positive moves to change being on a perpetual cycle of credit card debt and spending on !!!!!! stupid purchases. Recovery in essence. Recovery is possible and applies to any addictive behaviours. RN I'm choosing not to over work, not to use substances, to spend time with those I love, to allow myself to be in their company, spend money wisely think about value. Massively redacting the post so possibly reads a little strangely but anyone who is reading this who has the same affliction; recovery is possible, you choose to make the choices that lead to recovery. Every !!!!!! minute you can choose to be in recovery if you need to.
Anyhow as I cba to write the whole post out as I'm definitely ready for bed and only up now because I feel too !!!!!! ill to sleep I'll just post coming month's totals.
Starting card balances - £34540
End-July card balances - £33110
@Bargainhunter30 fml! Any idea what happens if she isn't isolating?4 -
We have given up on foreign travel this year and most probably next year as well. We are going to let things settle down again before we decide to head over the channel with the van.
Plenty for us to see and do in this country first.2 -
Day 29 two more days to goal 1. Full day of work planned today. Quite full on so my other aims are to get a run and a dog walk. Hope to have chance to go back through cards. It’s really not so bad tbh. Still in shock re just how much a surplus I’ll have if I get debt free. Was thinking could maybe just have a year or 2 of no credit commitments when I’ve cleared my cards, balloon and shortfall which will inevitably wind up on the cards again ha.
@RelievedSheff I don’t blame you mate. I only plan to go to Greece for the foreseeable and other breaks stay in uk. Only going to Greece to see my parents really elements of hol 100% but I wouldn’t be going if they didn’t live there.6
