As well as unopened boxes and unused items aother sign of instant gratification failure is when you forgot you already have something and buy another one.

The park a need/want in a queue works in business as well.
If you deal with emails on a Sat/Sun how may won't get any further action till Monday or could wait?

@getmore4less thanks think I ought to read that in the morning really but yes lots of that in this house mainly wife for clothes etc. 25 pairs of trainers unopened in this house because she's got to have them. I haven't forgotten I've bought a car yet.

Tbf I think you're right about business - I have enjoyed not being 'always on' this weekend. Only managed to check in once today this morning no fit state to be dealing with it by close of business today.

Wife gone to bed 9pm lol probably wants to get away from me. Don't know why I opened another bottle going to be paying for this tomorrow haha.

    promised myself I'd update this...

    This week:
    1. Stick with the budget. - I have put a few things in an online shopping bag, didn’t buy, left the tab open on my computer going to leave until Friday if I still want, I’ll buy then. First time in my life I’ve not just gone straight to the checkout haha. not bought and no budgets harmed today
    2. Not spend my free time looking at cars / property rather than doing something with my family. win
    3. Check yolt app everyday. did this earlier all pending though.
    4. 4 day working week for me done an hour this morning and will do another hour later today. Yes I count that a day off. Then Tuesday - Friday aim to finish work 6.30pm. lol no additional hour done.
    5. 3x workouts, 1x 5km. 6 days exercise was completely unrealistic for me lol. actually did this 1x workout and walk with the dog to try to sober up a bit. Onto strong coffee now.

A strong coffee at this time? Ha.

Good your wife is on board with the selling. You may find the trainers are worth a small fortune as well. My old flatmate was hugely into trainers and got me into buying them to sell on. Bought a few pairs of some Nike fly knit racers he insisted would be worth 2-3 times the retail price...they weren’t...I made a loss  The first edition were but the second edition they produced in higher numbers so they weren’t as rare...

Fell for it again on a pair of yeezys...the first pair they decided to mass produce. I just about broke even on those by selling to someone in Europe...

Fragrances can be another good one if you’ve also built up a collection you never use. They’re my guilty pleasure but I have made a few quid profit buying and selling niche fragrances. If you have any you want to sell then I’m your man  E.g. Creed Aventus has become like wine in terms of the batch hype so older bottles can be worth hundreds... Even some designer fragrances that have been discontinued can be worth a few bob...

Do you have any watches that might’ve appreciated that you don’t wear? You might find you can wipe out the debt with things you have laying around the house...

  • 5 valuations is better than none. Be the truthful valuer/ estate agent. They will come back to you when the over valuer fails to sell. It's becoming about being honest. Which is good for you.

@ryanm8655 probably going to be up most of the night now. Yes I'm an idiot in more ways than spending more than I earn haha.

Wife has downloaded depop so hopefully some will go through that. She won't be buying more, got enough to get rid of.

Don't think I have any unopened fragrances unfortunately all been opened.

Watches I have 2 I don't really wear much 1 I do which is probably worth the most. Will have a look but won't get rid of the 1 I wear everyday had for a lot of years.

@PassElephant very true never been a liar in business. 🙂 One is a big unit secured lending valuation... banks trusting my judgement fml.
  • The value is what it is. You know what it is.
Hard but real. That's what the banks pay you for...

Not always as clear cut as it being what it is no subjectivity would be a lot easier if that was the case so judgement does come into it. Market appraisal never try to over promise no point as you say they come back when matey down the road fresh off his property gonna make you mega bucks course new shiny suit over promises and under delivers.

Opened fragrances can still be worth a fair bit depending on what they are.

Depending on what the watches are, you can likely wipe out a chunk of debt with those. Might also help get the wife on board...

    Every little helps...

@ryanm8655 would have never guessed that re fragrances! Will spend a bit of time having a look through at the weekend.

Thanks re watches looking on chrono 24 might see £5-6k for the two I don’t wear much: Tag Carrera and a breitling navitimer give me a msg if interested open to letting those go. They have been worn though not perfect. Daily watch is worth a bit more than I thought it would be though it’s battered so not worth what they’re asking on there but I’ve worn it everyday for years not selling unless my home depended on it lol.
