Oh oh, lets be careful - this could turn into a "bring back spangles" thread.

You mean you can't get 'spangles' anymore? Don't know what the world's turning into.

Anyone that fails to report such posts are worse then the posters. You are letting them get a way with it and that makes you worse then they are.
I think that's a bit harsh. Lots of people choose to turn the other cheek when they're hurt or insulted, it doesn't make them worse than the person who's been abusive.

That may be true but it does not excuse you or anyone else for not reporting an abusive post made about another person on these forums. We are all entitled to our opinions and to express them but we are not allowed to ram them down other peoples throats.
You can't have a discussion without annoying somebody, somewhere - that's the nature of discussions

That is true but being down right rude in the process makes a post offensive and such posts should always be reported.

As I said before, we are the moderators. If we see a post that we consider to be abusive we have a duty to report it. It is then up to the forum manager to decide whether or not that post should be removed.

Twice on this forum I have reported posts to the forum manager because the original poster was being attack by other posters. Unfortunately in both cases it was too little too late and both OP's stopped posting to their threads.

The reason why I have and will reports posts is that I was attacked by other posters on my own thread but at that time I did not know what to do about it and no one reported the abusive posts I was getting.

Therefore, I will protect others on this forum from having to endure what I had to put up with on my own thread and I will encourage as many others as I can to do the same.

I do see what you're getting at here, but what may seem abusive to one poster may not seem so to another. At what point are we not just expressing an opinion, but 'ramming it down someone's throat'?

As a Christian, I was taught to turn the other cheek and I find it has usually served me well as a rule to live by. I won't lose sleep over someone else's ignorance or rudeness - I would rather ignore them than judge them!

Any obviously nasty or bullying posts will always be reported by someone (usually lots of people) but I don't think any one person can set themselves up as the moral guardian of this or any other site.

Thank you for posting, this is actually quite an interesting subject for discussion.

Again, that is true. However, I am not the one that will remove an abusive post from a forum and or a member. That is a job for the forum Manager but as I said before, the forums are not moderated. That means they know nothing about such posts unless someone tells them.

It depends on what someone would call nasty or bullying as well as how vulnerable the person receiving the abusive post are. Quite a few of whom are already at their wits end worry about the mess they are in.

Personally, I would rather air on the side of caution. Report a post and have the forum manager tell me it is ok then to not report a post and let someone get away with being abusive to someone who has come here for help and advice on how to get there debts under control and ultimately get rid of them.

Anyhow, back to the original question. I hate tattoos partly because they are a fade. Something that is fashionable at the moment, that will be out of fashion in a few years time but unlike the bell-bottom trousers I used to wear, it is not so easy to remove a tattoo. What you may think looks great today may look horrible in ten or twenty years time.

Spangles and bubble gum that came with a transfer. Now that takes me back more years then I care to remember. It also reminds me of, if I have spelt it right, Jambari bags.

I was thinking about the transfers last night. If my memory serves me right, you can buy transfers, not sure if they are called that these days, but they last for about five years. They look as good as a tattoo but there is no pain involved in getting one and you are not stuck with it for the rest of your life. I presume that with the right chemicals you can remove one whenever you wish to.
  • Well, considering tattoo's have been around for centuries, I'm not too sure about how "faddy" they are.

The tempory tattoos you're referring to are a recognised health risk. Awful things. They're not transfers. They are "temprary tattoos" that use the same technique as a real tattoo, but allegedly are temporary as they don't go as deep.
