He's a she actually ;) and apology accepted:)

Oops. Sorry (again)
• Just to clarify from our point of view. Whilst we like to keep threads and posts of a certain board "on topic", the boards very greatly in terms of the way they work and the patterns they fall into and whilst some are very much by the title, others do wander off into more relaxed chat.

We would never look to kill any community or chat on a thread - it's a public forum and no one "owns" a board or thread. It is here for everyone to be a part of. That said, if people were constantly posting off topic comments, we would encourage them to stick more to the designated chat areas (MSE/DT). We like to think that somewhere in the middle there is some common ground where we can have both - the on topic comments and the community chat side that people return here for.

Remember, the reason everyone is on DFW is because they share the same interest - off topic occasional chat doesn't mean they arent DFW focussed!

Hi Everyone & Forum Manager.

I looked at this thread a couple of hours ago and like others, I thought the person had posted to the wrong forum.

I was therefore surprised to see so many replies to a thread that is in the wrong forum. True this forum is full of tea, sympathy and biscuits, well most of the time. Far too often, we have all seen posts that have no sympathy with the OP and are at times down right rude.

Any such posts should be reported immediately by sending an email to abuse@moneysavingexpert.com

If the OP had been asking for our help to get their debts under control and at some point they had then asked the question about getting a Tattoo, it would have been in the spirit of this forum to answer their question.

However, forum manager, for the OP to jump straight in and ask such a question, they are in the wrong forum. To put it another way, we DFW’s are trying to get our debts under control and to then get rid of them as soon as possible.

We hope, with tea, sympathy and biscuits from other DFW’s, to be able to remove our debts without loosing our sanity in the processes. The last thing any of us should be doing is paying out for something that does nothing to help us keep our sanity intact or get rid of our debts.

Once we are debt free we can payout for all sorts of none essential things, like a tattoo. As long as, that is, we stay within our budgets.

That's all fair and good but I know I for one feel a bit.. well... unwelcome outside of DFW. I've been in threads outside of here that although in the right place have attracted some really sarcastic and downright rude replies, whereas here I've never had that and feel like there is a strong sense of security and community within DFW compared to other boards. I know I very rarely venture out of DFW now so I can totally understand why some people prefer to post here compared to other boards.

Depends how I feel really. It is nice and safe on here and sometimes if I feel like road rage I will venture into another forum where they are not so friendly. Trial and error really. Came on here and felt all rose covered cottages and then ventured out. Forgot where I went but my GOD where they grumpy. Fun for a laugh now and again if I feel brave .

We are nice on here and for that I do not apologise

can second that on a lot of other boards being very unfriendly..we are treated as lepers once they see our sigs....there for the grace of god go I...so the saying goes....they don't know how we live or how we got into this position...very ignorant a lot of those people...
