Hi immoral_angeluk
That's all fair and good but I know I for one feel a bit.. well... unwelcome outside of DFW. I've been in threads outside of here that although in the right place have attracted some really sarcastic and downright rude replies

It makes no difference what forum you are posting in, posts that are rude, inflammatory, sarcastic, libellous, and racist or anything else should be reported.

abuse@moneysavingexpert.com

Anyone that fails to report such posts are worse then the posters. You are letting them get a way with it and that makes you worse then they are.

we are treated as lepers once they see our sigs

I quite agree with you. However, we are all guilty of doing it. A lot of us think we could run the country better then the current government but we know nothing about what is involved in doing so.

We only look at things from our perspective, whether we are a boss, a worker, male, female, black, white and so on. If 500 years ago when we was a god fearing people, someone ran around proclaiming a stuffed toy was god, they would have been stoned to death.

Drive around in a flash car when you are young and time and time again, you will get stopped by the police. Drive around in an old banger and they leave you alone.

As you can see, I have not done my sig. That is partly because I do not know how, partly because I do not wish to display that to the world and partly because I can move around from forum to forum anonymously.

Anyhow, getting abusive posts because of your financial situation is no different to getting abusive post because someone is black. One is Racism and I have no idea what the other is but neither should be tolerated.

The Abuse email address is there for a reason and we should use it anytime we SEE an abusive post. These forums are not moderated automatically and that means we have to do it ourselves.

I think that's a bit harsh. Lots of people choose to turn the other cheek when they're hurt or insulted, it doesn't make them worse than the person who's been abusive.

A bit of a sweeping statement, don't you think?

If 500 years ago when we was a god fearing people, someone ran around proclaiming a stuffed toy was god, they would have been stoned to death.

Is this in reference to the teacher who allowed a teddy bear to be called Mohammed?

As you can see, I have not done my sig. That is partly because I do not know how, partly because I do not wish to display that to the world and partly because I can move around from forum to forum anonymously.

Why would you want to be anonymous?

I have been around these boards for a while now and I think (I hope) I have helped one or two people. I expect I've niggled some people too, but on the odd occasion when I have had an abusive reply, I have tried tp answer them in a calm manner without resorting to a slanging match. Unless someone is using foul language or is being racist/sexist etc I would not normally press the abuse button.

What happened to those 'lick and stick' tattoos that you used to get with the chewing gum - 'Bazooka Joe' I think?

Don't last long, but they were cheap.:rotfl: :rotfl:

Most of us are kb - except for the odd 'Troll'. As far as I'm concerned, you go ahead with your tattoo - on the condition you post a picture of it on this thread.

Don't you dare!!! I don't post much around here as I am not a DFW but I applaud all you guy's who are standing up and being counted and taking responsibility for your actions. :T

Hold your head up high and be proud of yourself. You have earned that much :T

As for off topic posts - when you are in a vulnerable state you do tend to stick in your comfort zone with people who understand you and wont judge you so to post in the same area even if it is OT is natural - maybe a sub board for the DFW general chat then the main board doesn't get clogged up with OT posts ;)

How about calling it 'DFW Coffee Lounge' ;)

Or that germaline flavoured chewing gum, which came with two little smily / acid house faces on in different poses?

(or did I dream it)

Oh oh, lets be careful - this could turn into a "bring back spangles" thread.
