Halifax 10% Regular Savings Account

I paid in £1 to the e-saver so that is opened (the linked account to the CRS) - but I dont think my CRS has been opened until my first SO as I have no book,etc. for it - only the original letter I received and the application form I posted off - surely they can be clearer on this "when is" / "when isnt" an account opened?!?!
I believe another call to the helpline is in order this evening.

When i opened my account, the chap asked me if i wanted to pay some money into it now. As i wanted my first SO to go out the 1st of the month i asked him if it would break the terms and conditions and he said no. He did say i could leave it so that the July payment would be the first payment in though.

It will be open - you dont get a passbook with Halifax RS's. You cant send an SO to an unopened account either!

It may well be that you can leave it until the July SO, but what if you cant?

My only point was the safest way seems to be to make an opening deposit and then pay in by SO on the 1st of the next month (this maximises the return too as you can get two payments in in quick time!).
