Just did the switch back to Go online. Took less than a minute and got an instant email saying we're back on Go from midnight tonight.  B)
Can't argue with that for a good service !
I'm fine with the standard Go tariff from 0.30am to 4.30am @ 5p. I'll just go back to a timed schedule for charging the car and house batteries.
Since EVandPV has house batteries,  it's probably worth switching.   But for those of us without (= most ?) , most beneficial alternative tariff from Octopus would be 'Go' where for 20hrs a day electricity costs around 14ppu and it's 5p for only 4 hrs. Expensive as today's rates may seem, there's only 7 half hours outside the 4-7pm 'peak' when our prices will be more than 14ppu and relatively easy to minimise usage during those periods.

Go only works if you can shift usage to your 5p period. Charging an EV or doing washing on a time delay are useful examples; not many folk would be prepared to do their baking at 3am.

Octopus Energy expands into the US market with Evolve acquisition

"UK energy supplier Octopus Energy has launched in the US, thanks to the acquisition of Silicon Valley-based startup Evolve Energy.

The $5 million (£3.9 million) deal will see Octopus Energy US – as the new business will be known – begin operating in Texas, targeting 25 million energy accounts by 2027.

Since launching in 2016, Octopus Energy has grown in the UK to have a customer base of 1.7 million customers, and is targeting 100 million globally by 2027, of which the new, US contingent will play a key role."

Meter installed so just waiting for it to be "connected" so I can change tariff, so do I switch to Go and charge my batteries or is it worth using Agile?
I will answer my own question... after checking looks like go is the better option and easier to manage........ Data below from https://octochargecalc.energy-stats.uk/

It does depend on your usage profile and if you can avoid the 4-7pm peak prices on Agile. We switched back to Go Faster 2:30-6:30 from Agile in September, as the Agile prices were creeping up.
At the moment, for us, Agile would work out about 0.25p/kWh more than Go Faster for our usage profile, but that would probably cancel out if we were on Agile and altered our usage profile. With being on Go Faster, we like the convenience of having the fixed period of 5p/kWh from 02:30-06:30 for charging the car, washing machine, etc & waking up to the smell of freshly baked bread from the automatic bread maker.
If Agile average prices start dropping again, we will probably switch back, but having the fixed periods of cheap electric during the winter is our preference.
