Child trust fund

Hello, I’m hoping someone can help me out or advise me on what to do next. My son was born 27/08/2002 and received a child trust fund cheque all them years ago and I’d deposited it into a Halifax bank account for him. Now he has turned 18 and I was trying to access it for him and was directed to the gov.uk website to complete the online form. Upon doing so and entering his DOB it stated that with his DOB he wasn’t eligible for one even though I know 1000000% he was awarded one. Please has anyone else had the same problem or have any ideas as to what my next step would be. Thank you in advance.

This may help but it does put doubts on eligibility
A Child Trust Fund is a children’s savings account made available to children born between 1 September 2002 and 2 January 2011.

I read that Allison and think that is why I can’t access his account. He definitely received one though as I deposited it into a Halifax bank x0

Have you checked with the Halifax?0

@KatrinaWaves yes I had 2 children, both received a separate cheque and both was deposited. One born in 2002 and the other 20040

@venison yes I checked with Halifax and they know nothing about them. The scheme wasn’t running long, there is no trust fund customer service as it no longer exists0

I have one for my 9 year old and I receive a yearly statement this is via nationwide
Have you tried using your own details instead of your child's on the gov.uk website site as my daughters is in my name.0 -
Yes I’d entered my details but then it asked for his name, DOB ect and it kept saying it was an invalid DOB 🤦🏽♀️ It’s frustrating knowing full well he has one, I will have another look thank you0

The second child's DOB falls within the eligibility period but the first child's does not.
Where is the second child's CTF held?
I’d deposited it into a Halifax bank account for him.It could only have been paid into a CTF account.

Parents can pre-register for the Halifax Child Trust Fund Account ahead of receiving their £250 from the government.
The shares CTF accounts have been transferred to Foresters Life.
