  • I like the fact that with the new Xbox you can buy games such as FIFA and they will convert it when the new console comes out, saves money having to buy the game again but i always feel that buying them from the Microsoft store is always the most expensive way

Cost of games be it digi or disc are already advertised 64.99 range-not far from recent reports that games could cost 70 pounds.
Not sure what to purchase tomorrow- seen a short screen shot call of duty ps5 - if that's next gen I'm not amazingly impressed.
Storage hopefully of no immediate concern, I have Porsche 1tb if required.
Graphics drop is going to be noticeable from x-s -quite a drop I suspect.
Games will probably be cheaper on disk eventually because that's the case currently when you compare somewhere like Amazon vs the digital store on the console.

Well the Series S is less powerful than the Xbox One X so if your after next generation graphics then you won't want to get the Series S because it won't be any better than the current generation.

It depends what upgrade path you're coming from. If you're upgrading from a Xbox one or Xbox one S then getting the Series S is far more beneficial . If you're into 4k gaming and have been using the Xbox One X, then upgrade to Xbox series X.

Has a PC gamer, having a constant 1080p / 60FPS will make a BIG difference to Xbox. Considering the Series S can run games up to 120FPS.

The memory may not be the best though many release games are less than 50gb (Assassins Creed Valhalla) . You'll be able to get plenty of AAA games on the hard drive.

I don't think going digital is that of a big deal. Most gaming laptops do not have a disk drive in them. Most PC gamers use steam and other online platforms for their games nowadays.

Faster loading times, better graphics, constant 60 FPS, quick resume and many more great things ... don't just brush off the S .

I think this Series S is MUCH more powerful than people think.

I agree with some very sensible points you Mention.
My S decision was since xbox 1 /ps4.
It could have been x series if my 4K t.v. Was hdr capable, which it isn't.
A smart 1080 p game will be smart enough, though 120hz is getting a few reports of 'very unlikely' via s though it is launched as capable.
Only a few weeks to go, looking forward to call of duty digi download.
Amazing the  x cloud could be available soon via ios, browser version.
Cannot guess how powerful S series is, interested to play next month and experience if  any noticeable improvements over x box one games.

Faster load times than the current gen are nice but its hardly a desperate need.

    What was actually said was:

"He also mentions how the Series S can sometimes load games faster, thanks to the reduced size and resolution of the assets it uses for games."

So it only sometimes loads games faster and this is due to lower resolution textures being used in some games due to the Series S reduced processing power.

Though S series won't run X Series enhancements, I'll choose Cross Gen Digi Version anyway, and if I choose to 'upgrade' to X or ps5 then I'll have call of duty enhanced download code if required.

I could be wrong here but I don't believe a cross gen gives you a download code for the PS5 version, it means you could play it on an Xbox One.
The one on Amazon you download the Xbox One and you get the Series X version when it launches.

I was referring to Activision -what cross gen means is X box one or S can also be upgraded to X series -(if required)
Buy this digital Xbox One version of Call of Duty®: Black Ops Cold War from the Microsoft Store and download the Xbox Series X version at no extra cost when it launches.
Ps 5 ref was my mistake -thought I had read that from Activision when I posted.

    Thanks

Just wanted to check if you made an error or not.
Its a nice option for those who haven't bought an X yet but will in the future, it means there no extra spending needed, what I dont like is the cost of the games have increased but Im sure if one looks around you could still find a better price.
