If it plays a decent game of call of duty amongst one or two other games, that should suffice.
Looking forward to attempting pre order next week.
And it's digital-no more physical storage to remove from flat.
X series is my reserve choice -such a large physical dark box -not to my own liking.
Anyone answer if Games pass will be available to purchase separately.
t.i.a.
Digital only may seem like a good thing at first but not when you consider it only has 512Gb of storage which will fill up fast with how big modern games are. Plus you are then tied into buying games only from Microsoft which are usually very expensive compared to getting second hand games on disks and games on sale from third party retailers.
So they tempt you in by the low console price and then you will pay for that in more expensive games and having to purchase more storage or continually downloading and deleting games as you want to play them.
The Series S is the console that parents will buy for kids wanting a "New Xbox" for Christmas and they will choose it based on price alone.1 -
@takman
Cost of games be it digi or disc are already advertised 64.99 range-not far from recent reports that games could cost 70 pounds.
Not sure what to purchase tomorrow- seen a short screen shot call of duty ps5 - if that's next gen I'm not amazingly impressed.
Storage hopefully of no immediate concern, I have Porsche 1tb if required.
Graphics drop is going to be noticeable from x-s -quite a drop I suspect.Replenished CRA Reports.2020 Nissan Leaf 128-149 miles top charge. Savings depleted. VM Stream tv M250 Volted to M350 then M500 since returned to 1gb0 -

Well the Series S is less powerful than the Xbox One X so if your after next generation graphics then you won't want to get the Series S because it won't be any better than the current generation.

S Series bid hopefully soon, going with original Digi only requirements.
Though it is serious drop in graphics, maybe I won't see any difference from previous x box one, apart from slightly higher resolution, so upscale to 4K only for me via 2015 Sony non hdr 4K.
Maybe I'll change in a year or two later if I eventually go HDR, though limited to 43" screen size whilst home.
8K is No for my home -that's going to be +50 or 60" minimum.Replenished CRA Reports.2020 Nissan Leaf 128-149 miles top charge. Savings depleted. VM Stream tv M250 Volted to M350 then M500 since returned to 1gb0 -

A lot will depend on what TV you’re playing it on. I suspect the Series S is targeted at children/teens with the console in their bedroom playing it on a basic 20” TV. At that kind of size and quality I doubt you’ll notice a difference.If your gaming TV is a 65” OLED HDR10+ then you might wish to stick to the Series X.
I do think it’s a clever marketing ploy by Microsoft. I suspect a lot of youngsters will be unwrapping a Series S this Christmas rather than the more expensive Sony options.2 -
@Gavin83
Quite possibly both S/X are younger generation targeted.
I'll give S a call of duty shot and one or two games next year, if it fails to impress on Sony 4K non hdr 43" t.v.
Then I'll pass it via e-bay and consider HDR t.v. For sky q then consider x or ps5.
Digital only has been my fav' 'feature' almost went old school x box digi last year.
S series has answered my request.
Read a few reviews my t.v. Is very decent upscaling to 4K resolution-Qv works very well.
enjoy mser's whichever choice,my Amazon S Isn't cancelled today.
Is 64.99 worth it for Call of Duty world war Digi cross gen-with free upgrade when enhanced version is released.
Not sure if S will benefit from 'enhanced' gamesReplenished CRA Reports.2020 Nissan Leaf 128-149 miles top charge. Savings depleted. VM Stream tv M250 Volted to M350 then M500 since returned to 1gb0 -
Personally, I've always liked PlayStation

Seems it's a safe choice ordering call of Duty from Activision.
Though S series won't run X Series enhancements, I'll choose Cross Gen Digi Version anyway, and if I choose to 'upgrade' to X or ps5 then I'll have call of duty enhanced download code if required.
So it's Call of Duty Digi version for S series, should be fine for a while.Replenished CRA Reports.2020 Nissan Leaf 128-149 miles top charge. Savings depleted. VM Stream tv M250 Volted to M350 then M500 since returned to 1gb0 -
Def the X for me as starting to stock up on old Xbox/360 games. Cheap as chips at mo and looking forward to playing em at 60 FPS+. Didn’t think I’d ever stray from PlayStation but their lack of info on all things PS5 and more importantly backwards compatibility has made me go Xbox for the next gen.
