Marks and Spencer have now contracted Ocado to deliver. Previously they did not deliver groceries (only food boxes).  There has been a big take up of this service as many people do not live near to a store but like the food.
They are also doing their food to order service (party food) via Ocado.  I can see the Marks and Spencer delivery service being very popular over the Christmas period when the stores can be busy.
There is a cost to home delivery (it cuts margins) which is why Aldi and Lidl don't deliver however I can still see many people continuing with their home deliveries.
Cue an increased number of posters saying "I was delivering food at a block of flats and was genuinely loading/unloading but I still got a ticket"
Out of curiosity do we know of a supermarket food delivery van being ticketed?

    Meanwhile at Morrisons

I don't recall supermarket delivery drivers, sure it must have happened on private estates.

What fun, would we say talk to your bosses as they know all about the parking scam or maybe suggest that Tesco, Waitrose, Sainsbury's, Morrisons etc etc COME HERE FOR HELP ?

This thread is urinating in a windward direction.

In the past few years, I have been in contact with Facilities or Estates Managers of all the major supermarkets. I even managed to get £200 compensation for a client who was wrongly ticketed for a double-dip at a Morrisons store.

I have pointed out how the scam works, and how they are driving away customers into the arms of the likes of Aldi and Lidl, long before the current pandemic started.

They all sing from the same hymn-sheet 'Our customers have complained that they couldn't find a parking space. The other supermarkets have parking restrictions at their stores, and we must remain competitive'. They just can't, or won't, accept that the odd chav parking for 3 hours is preferable to upsetting bona fide customers who spend £100 on groceries every week, and are now taking their business elsewhere.

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.

When you think of £100.00 per week over a few years that is a lot of money. It's the equivalent of changing a small car every three years. The £100.00 is probably just the food, cleaning product and toiletries bill. I bet it does not include petrol, clothing, etc.

You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

Thing is, though, it's not always the odd chav. If there was free for all parking in my local Waitrose, for example, it would soon be full of day trippers, shop staff, estate agents, residents etc cars

I tend to think that supermarkets get more complaints about lack of parking than about PPCs/tickets. If it really was hitting their business they would do something about it.

that's what the song sheet says ..... in reality no supermarket can know how many customers they lose to Aldi and Lidl because the great british public are a silent bunch. Your Waitrose may be happy with their turnover but the potential for them is far greater.  All supermarkets are price matching to get customers back so clearly they have a problem

I have not shopped in TESCO for over 3 years but I have not told them

Well we all know that the CEO of Tesco is pro parking companies even with their own parking dept.
    NO POINT

It's not up to the customer to tell supermarkets with such competition around. The CEO is in charge of their profits
