The CEO's of supermarkets now have a wake up call

People have got used to the ease of home shopping (I can, thoroughly, recommend Mr Amazon for wine!) and this, coupled, with the ongoing concern around the pandemic means that the way many of us shop has probably changed for everI haven't tried Amazon. The last home delivery was from Asda, ordered 6 bottles of Australian Merlot, got 6 Chardonnays! Won't try that again, next time they could try to offload me Blue Nun! 😲
But nothing gets close to the purchasing experience after a tasting in South African vineyards. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Envy you that. We like South African wine. Have been to a couple of vineyards here in Kent - very good days out

Was hoping to read that a senior supermarket manager had been, or was being prosecuted for the actions of his/her agents ( ie GDPR breach for double dip)but alas no, it will be business as usual - car park?? nothing to do with us you need to get in touch with scumbag parking who run it on our behalfFrom the Plain Language Commission:

Marks and Spencer have now contracted Ocado to deliver. Previously they did not deliver groceries (only food boxes). There has been a big take up of this service as many people do not live near to a store but like the food.
They are also doing their food to order service (party food) via Ocado. I can see the Marks and Spencer delivery service being very popular over the Christmas period when the stores can be busy.
There is a cost to home delivery (it cuts margins) which is why Aldi and Lidl don't deliver however I can still see many people continuing with their home deliveries.

Aldi are trialling food delivery via Deliveroo. Lidli are doing the same sort of thing in Ireland - so looks like they both accept that they will have to get into that market as they are losing out

It's the suppliers to supermarkets that will carry the brunt. The way it works is the supplier will go to the big supermarkets with deals such as buy 100 packets of ginger nuts and get 30 free. So to make a profit, they will need to sell 130 packs when they try to match prices. Multiply that with say 1000 product lines.
All this means footfall which they are not going to get anytime soon
"Footfall" ...... could be the name of the next James Bond movie1 -
