Dacia cars - any good?

There is a new Sandero (and Logan) out next year.
It will run on Renaults latest the CMF-B LS platform, which is a slightly lower spec, rougher and tougher version of the CMF-B HS under the new Mk5 Clio.
Having had a 2017 Sandero and now own a new Mk5 Clio, the improvement is massive. It's no surprise to me the new Clio is rattling the VW Golf for Europes best selling car.
They'll run the latest Renault/Nissan Alliance engines, including the TCe130 (Renault sell this with the dual clutch auto gearbox, so the Sandero might get this too), but I believe they won't use the Hybrid units.
They should come with a host of new kit either standard or optional.
If it's half as smooth, quiet and refined as the Mk5 Clio, it should be a cracker and if they offer the dual clutch auto and the same 5 year warranty Renault offer, it could be a big seller.1 -

Called at a local Dacia dealer yesterday ,had a walk around the yard looking for a used Sandero just to physically see one in the flesh ,did not have one so went into the saleroom and spoke to a salesperson ,told him i was interested in buying a new Sandero but not till after the turn of the year but hoped to see one ,sorry he said we do not have a new one in stock only Dusters .He did not ask where i lived ,what if any car i would trade in not even asked for my name and contact number ,got the impression he was not bothered about selling one ,ok i was not buying today but thought they would be looking for business.0

Sounds like appalling service but, possibly, the showroom is actually very busy this week as it is just the turn of the new reg. plate so they may have a stack of new cars to handover and, unless they were convinced you were serious and now, maybe just could not spend the time you needed them to spend. Still, not a good first impression.
I have on many occasions found car sales to be very laid back and "couldn't care less" in their approach. New cars sales are possibly even the worst.1 -

Same story when I was after the poverty spec. duster. If I wanted the expensive one in stock, no problem, but they couldn't even guess at when they would be able to get the cheap one.I suspect that Dacia are like Lada used to be, and suzuki were when I bought the Jimny- the factory makes cars in batches when they feel like it, to whatever spec. they have the parts for, and they get sent to dealers at random, so they never know what they are getting, plus they make more money on the specc'd up ones, so they make more of those.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)

Either way, £7k is a large capital expenditure and, for many people, a new car is a largely discretionary purchase. To which I mean, if the current car "does the job" of A to B, then the choice to have a shinier car with more toys is discretionary. If current car is knackered, then the purchase of a new car may well be a "need" and essential purchase. I have, on many occasions, decided to upgrade my car and then walked without buying because the sales staff could not be bothered and I decided if it is hard work to get a new car, I'll keep the one I have.2
