Not a no spends day today. We have an Asda home shopping delivery coming this afternoon and my trusty Nissan Almera has gone for it's MOT today. The other half is not impressed with having to drive that to work today. It is better in the snow than his car anyway so it has done him a  favour really. We also have a meat delivery arriving today as well.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was crumpets, the other half has taken his packed lunch to work, I will grab something from the fridge for my lunch and it is fakeaway Friday tonight so we are having chicken tikka naan wraps with homemade raita for dinner.

    Today's jobs include:
    • working from home
    • putting the home shopping delivery away
    • portioning up the meat delivery and putting it in the relevant freezers
    • vacuuming the house
    • dusting the house
    • making the raita and marinating the chicken
    • walking the dog x 2
The dog is loving the snow. He is being a bit of a pain with it though. He keeps pestering to go out in the garden. The other half has had him out for a walk before work and said he had a great time. He has been pestering me to go out in the garden again but I have said no for now so he has gone to bed sulking. Honestly, dogs are worse than kids sometimes!

Fingers crossed your car passes its MOT. My dog loves the snow too as does the cat. I spend a lot of time letting them both out in the garden then letting them back in again a few seconds later.

It is a thoroughly boring car. But it has been a good car over the years. We have had it for 17 years now, it was about a year old when we got it, and it does not owe us a penny. It has given us 152k trouble free miles and we really couldn't complain if it went to the scrap yard today. The engine is sweet as a nut. The Japs knew how to build an engine before the French bought them and started meddling!

We could do with it lasting us until we are ready to get the motorhome to be fair, then it will either get scrapped or sold cheap.

Our dog is an idiot and won't come back in even though he is wet through and freezing cold. He is laid in his kitchen bed now gazing out of the patio doors at the snow.

The snow walking down the roof of the house is upsetting him though. Mind you the noise is upsetting me a bit as well, it sounds horrible. Just hope it doesn't drop on the car or worse one of the delivery drivers today!!

These old cars are amazing if you have a good one. Our 22yearold Mazda Bongo flew through its MOT last week with only one advisory for thinning brake pads. DH was chuffed as thats the 4th year it has passed with no problem. The tester said he will find something eventually and laughed. :)

Had to send a few of the substituted items back to Asda today. They were just not suitable substitutions. This is the first time I have had to do this and I am a little bit disappointed with them.

    Smoked basa is not salmon!

They also swapped the dogs grain free dog food for a poor quality substitution with grains which isn't really acceptable. He has a grain free diet for a reason!

Good news about the car. I do sometimes wonder who does the picking for these supermarket orders. Most of the time not people who normally shop themselves I suspect.
