Thanks all for your kind messages. It was a sad start to the week but at least we know that he was in the best hands and he didn't have a long illness and suffer. He will be truly missed by many.

Back to the working week and you can start to tell the mornings are getting lighter now. The sun was just creeping up as we were walking the dog this morning.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores today. Breakfast was cereals, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is seafood pasta and garlic bread.

    Tonight's jobs are:
    • walking the dog

£380 sent to the credit card account today.

I had a look at what the investment ISA made last year. The closing balance for 2024 was £1000 and it had gained £65 so not bad overall. Hopefully a similar level of increase for this year but we shall see.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores today. Breakfast was toast, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is ostrich steak with tortellini and vegetables.

    Tonight's jobs are:
    • walking the dog
    • cleaning the bathrooms
    • vacuuming the house

Wow next month your credit card will begin with a 2! Always used to cheer me up a lot when the amount went under the thousands or hundreds too.

Yes. I'm very much looking forward to getting rid of that card this year.

Will free up a decent chunk of money for additional savings and mortgage overpayments.

It's Friday again. The first week of February has flown by.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores today. Breakfast was cereals, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is pizza. We will have a few beers and watch a film tucked up on the sofa first though.

    Tonight's jobs are:
    • walking the dog
    • load of washing
We are both looking forward to a lie in tomorrow morning. It's been a busy last couple of weekends so we are looking forward to a quiet one this weekend.
