The weather is a bit miserable today, rain all day is forecast. We have had the dog put for a short walk this morning must go out again at some point soon. None of us fancy it though.

We have been to the shop and the farm shop. Only small bits and bobs needed today so we got away with a cheap visit.

The rest of the morning has been spent clearing out wardrobes, drawers and cupboards. A trip to the tip beckons soon.

Have just put the curry in the slow cooker. Looking forward to that later.

Despite the miserable weather we decided this morning to get out of the house and go for a long walk along one of our favourite trails in the city. It's a decent off road walk but was somewhat muddy under foot today. It was hard going in places!

We were all cold and muddy by the time we got back to the car so we're thankful of the little dog friendly cafe for a hot cuppa and a thaw out after the two hour hike.

We are back home again now with the heating on and the second load of washing of the day in the machine.

Dinner is prepared for later. Roast chicken today.

The dog is tucked up in his kitchen bed. He is shattered now. Not surprising with the running around and jumping in and out of the water. Doubt he will be much trouble for the rest of the day.

Monday has come around quick again. How is it the second week in February already? Mind you I'm not complaining, it means spring is on the way :)

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores today. Breakfast was toast, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is cajun chicken wraps made with the leftovers from last night's roast chicken.

My trusty walking boots that I have had for 6 years let me down at the weekend. They had soldiered on well but the sole finally gave up on them. My new boots arrived yesterday so I am wearing them for our morning dog walks for the rest of this week to bed them in a little bit before we go for longer walks at the weekend.

Hopefully this pair will last just as long.

Getting closer to the weekend and a dry start to the day always makes things seem easier in the morning.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores today. Breakfast was toast, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is harissa chicken with rice and vegetables.

    Tonight's jobs are:
    • walking the dog
    • cleaning the bathrooms
    • vacuuming the house
Weigh in Wednesday showed a 3/4 pound loss for me. It's heading in the right direction again and I'm happy with the losing half a pound or so a week loss rate. Slow and steady.

    Friday again.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores today. Breakfast was cereals, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is southern fried chicken, jacket potato and coleslaw.

No jobs tonight other than a quick dog walk tonight. It's a quiet night on the sofa with a few beers and a film. Can't wait.
