I've just spent ten minutes reading about the history of Charleville-Mezieres and the Place Ducale as its architecture captured my interest after seeing your photo.
It is a beautiful place. We will definitely come back here again.

The locals are very friendly as well. Had a great time in the bars chatting away with them.

Handy for the dogs vet visit as well. Might pop back here next year on the way home from Romania.

We usually holiday in our touring caravan taking our 13 year old dog with us, who acts like a 2 year old whilst we are away. Last month we went on our first cruise leaving our dog at home with family. We felt so guilty leaving him and if we could have we would have taken him with us. Love seeing the photos of your little one enjoying his holiday.xx
Ours would be heart broken if we left him.

He loves going away in his van 😀

Ours hasn't grown up yet. We had hoped by 8 he might have settled down a bit 🙄

It's been a longer day of driving today which went quite well until we arrived in Dunkirk.

It turns out pretty much every road here was either closed and being dug up or had a low bridge. We almost gave up on getting to tonight's stopover bit we got here eventually although we do think we were in a pedestrianised area at one point 🙈

It was definitely beer o clock by the time we had parked up. We abandoned the van in the first spot we found which was very sloping and found a bar 🤣🤣🤣

Only had a couple then we have come back and found a more suitable level spot for the van.

Will have a proper wander around and explore tomorrow. We are having two nights here anyway.

We have been treated to a beautiful day here in Dunkirk for our last day in Europe for this trip.

    Back to the UK tomorrow.

We are back in the UK now and have a couple of quiet nights planned on a site near Peterborough.

    Lots of dog walking today.

    Back home tomorrow 😥

The washing mountain is the worst part of a holiday!  I usually try to find one of the supermarket open air launderettes just before we come home to get the bulk of the washing done.  We usually do a final shop so we have some food for when we get home as well although can't get much as we only have a small icebox now on the fridge rather than a separate fridge/freezer like we had in the last van.

Looks like you have a great holiday and some fantastic photos.  Must admit we've never actually stayed in Dunkirk in all the years to going to France but looks a great town.

Dunkirk was one of our favourite places of this trip. We will definitely go back again.

Got one load of washing on the line, one load in the washer dryer, another load ready to go in when this has finished......  In hindsight we should have done a load on the CAMC site we were staying on this weekend 🙄

Will be playing catch up all week I reckon. Washing machine will be the hardest working thing here this week 🤣🤣🤣

We are glad of our freezer. Brought back loads of French cheese 😀 Won't struggle for a cheese board this Christmas that's for sure.

The other half has been to the supermarket this dinnertime to do a mini shop. Will do the full shop after work tomorrow evening.

Roast chicken Sunday roast later. Looking forward to that.
