It took us about 3 hours to get home today, a bit longer than expected but not terrible.

We timed it wrong at Sutton Bridge both ways and arrived around high tide when the ships are on the move so got held up by the swing Bridge.

Now back home, van almost sorted out just need to vacuum it in the week ready for next weekend.

One load of washing has dried on the line, the other haskust finished in the machine.

Curry is starting to smell nice. Don't think we will be late out of bed tonight!

Ha, we were in Norfolk too for the long weekend, on a boat though. Weather was so so. Would have been nice had my son not completely spoilt it idk he's 10 going on 14 year old moody !!!!!! teenager. Anyway, next time I think just my wife and I will go together.

You do have some stunning countryside in your part of the world.

Thought of you when I went to Sheffield last week (work), lot of roadworks on the M1 and in the city. I !!!!!! lost it at some old !!!!!! who wouldn't let my Mrs merge in, usually I'm pretty calm if I'm not driving but there were some real ignorant !!!!!! up there. Sat nav is up to date and it still wanted to send us down two no entry streets too.

The roads are terrible around here at the minute. They have roadworks everywhere. No escape from them!

Back to work this morning. At least it is a short week this week.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores today. Breakfast was toast, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is salmon with noodles and stir fried vegetables. We have a load of rainbow chard that is ready to pick so lots of that in the stir fry I think.

    Tonight's jobs are:
    • walking the dog
    • weekly shop
    • cleaning out the van ready for the weekend

No idea. Don't think there has been a single day in the 5 years we have lived outside of Sheffield that there has not been roadworks somewhere along the route!

@RelievedSheff that's ridiculous, hope for you they'll get it resolved soon and not touch the roads again ha. We've also got some new dumb roadworks that have popped up in the city centre over the past few weeks. Can't get away from it.

Mid week already and it is a bright and sunny start to the day. It is much nicer getting up when the weather is nice.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores today. Breakfast was the last of the sourdough bread we bought from the Two Magpies bakery in Wells toasted, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is garlic and herb chicken with lime and coriander rice and greens.

    Tonight's jobs are:
    • walking the dog
    • cleaning the kitchen
    • weigh in Wednesday
We don't think weigh in Wednesday to be too bad today. We did quite a bit of walking over the long weekend so we are hoping that has kept the weight off!!

Looks like you had a great weekend. I think this is the longest spell we’ve had not getting away, but we go to Cornwall mid June for over 2 weeks 😁

We are out again this weekend and the weekend after that!

Looking forward to a proper holiday now though. But that's not until the first week in July 🙄

Enjoy Cornwall. We love it down there. So pretty.
