Another hot day forecast today. It is getting overly hot in our house again. Thankfully at this time of year it cools down overnight with the upstairs windows left open.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores today. Breakfast was cereals, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is some nice dexter steak burgers from the farm shop with chips and coleslaw.
No jobs to do tonight other than walking the dog. Going to have a few drinks on the sofa and watch a film. Looking forward to a weekend at home in the garden this weekend.0 -
A weekend at home this weekend. And a hot and sunny one for a change.
Today we are going to the farm shop and we need to pop into town for a few bits. But then it is back home.
We need to cut the grass and I want to get a couple of loads of washing on the line. I'm going to clean the inside of the van and then it is bbq and cocktails in the garden.
The dog will get a good walk in town and we will take him for a swim in the ditch later to cool him off.2 -
Sounds like a good day is planned, especially cocktails in the sun.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

We had a lovely day in the garden yesterday. Thoroughly enjoyed some time at home in the sunshine.
Much the same planned for today.
We need to wash the van today and go to the farmshop. They had a power cut yesterday so couldn't open. Hope thats sorted for them!
We are going to have a bbq breakfast this morning and probably a rotisserie chicken for dinner later if the thunderstorms stay away!2 -
This mornings bbq breakfast was lovely. The other half clearly remembered how it should be done.
The dog has been eating the leftover sausage. He has got some left for later.
Bbq is all cleaned up again now and put away before the forecast thunderstorms arrive this afternoon.
We took the dog in the woods earlier while it was a bit cooler. He is crashed out in the garden now enjoying the sunshine.
Dinner is prepared ready for later. Roast chicken today.
The dogs fleece blankets have been washed and line dried to freshen them up a bit. Don't think he is best amused. He prefers them stinky!1 -
We had the BBQ breakfast yesterday, just egg, bacon and toast though. I'm still under the weather, don't really want much to eat.
No sign of any thunderstorms here2 -
Looked like it was going to chuck it down about an hour ago. Cleared up again now.
Turned a lot cooler though. We have retired into the kitchen for the first time this weekend!
Sorry to hear you are under the weather. There seem to be a lot of bugs going around at the minute. We had the lurgy last weekend. Fine again now. Mind you this weather helps 😀
I didn't manage to eat all of my breakfast. It was far too big. Dogs got some left for in the morning. He will have Sunday dinner tonight.1 -
It was like that all day here, right up until it went dark, no sign of any rain whatsoever. We didn't go in until past 9pm, was still ok. It's cooler tomorrow and meant to be raining Tuesday. I think all we can hope for this coming week are highs of 20-21C.
We've all had some sort of flu bug, started bank holiday - both my wife and son were ill first and I thought I'd got away with it for a day but I hadn't. I've been really quite ill tbh. Didn't even go into the office last week after the bank holiday, sure my staff thought I was making it up to spend the week sitting in my new garden lol. I'll be back in the office this week.
Not surprised you didn't manage to eat all the breakfast tbf I'd give it a go but probably couldn't manage all that even when I am ok. Never thought about a BBQ crumpet, you've got me tempted to try that now. My dog wouldn't have !!!!!! waited until tomorrow Sunday dinner or not. He nicked a !!!!!! burger and four slices of cheese the other day after his dinner.1 -
