Just seen on an animal charity social media page that it's migration season for frogs, toads and newts coming out of hibernation to return to their chosen breeding pond. Which would explain why our cat has set up her look out point and your dog found a toad. We have loads of newts in the pond but thankfully she's not managed to catch one of them yet just frogs. Had a few toads in the garden too in recent years.

He is daft like that and would go straight back for another given the chance.

We are going to walk him elsewhere tonight!!
  • Toads aparently do indeed taste entirely filthy - and yet it never does seem to put dogs off investigating them!

It's energy bill day today so that is £113 sent to the Foxy ones. Hoping that will come down a bit in the next few months. We still have loads of winter credit left and the forecast is for the next price cap to be a fair bit lower than the current one.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores today. Breakfast was cereals, we have both taken our packed lunches to work, salad box for me again and dinner tonight is chicken breast in a stilton and mushroom sauce, rice and greens.

    Tonight's jobs are:
    • walking the dog
    • load of washing
    • vacuuming the house
    • cleaning the bathrooms
The refund for the campsite has still not come through so need to chase that up today or tomorrow. If it is easier their end then we have some other sites booked for later in the year so they can always just knock it off the balances for those instead. We just want our money back one way or another.

The dog has still be toad hunting this morning the little sod. Fortunately we have managed to stop him snaffling any this morning. We have discovered this morning that one of his dew claws is curling round and starting to become uncomfortable against his leg. He is at the groomers on Saturday so hopefully they can cut it for him. If not it will be a trip to the vets early next week for them to have a look.

    It's Friday at last.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores today. Breakfast was cereals, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is some nice Dexter steak burgers from the farm shop with sweet potato chips, corn on the cob and coleslaw.

No jobs to do tonight other than walking the dog. We have a nice relaxing evening in store on the sofa watching a film or two with a couple of drinks. It won't be a late night tonight.

We have friends coming over to stay tomorrow so we will make the most of the quiet evening tonight because it definitely won't be a quiet one tomorrow!!

It's going to be a busy day today.

The dog is at the groomers this morning so we will get up in a minute, have coffee, take him for a walk grab some breakfast and bundle him off for a couple of hours.

Need to pop to the shop for a few bits to go with tonight's curry. We have friends staying over tonight so I have decided that a curry in the slow cooker is as easy as anything to cook.

We need to nip to the farm shop and pick a few bits up as well. Nothing much this week.

Our friends are coming about 1pm so we might have a walk up to the pub if the weather is fit. Kill two birds with one stone. Gives the dog a walk and gets us a couple of drinks put of the house 😀

We had a brilliant night with friends last night. So many belly laughs all round. Surprisingly no hang overs this morning.

We had a nice walk before breakfast which was more brunch than breakfast by the time we ate.

Nothing much happening today. We have just been for a walk around town. The dog is fast asleep now. He's shattered.

Got a load of washing in and must prepare dinner at some point. But that can wait a while.
