On a separate note I forgot that I had not written down my goals for this year.
I think the main one is to end this year with our debt total under £20k.
I would also like to see our savings hit the £3k mark but we have a few expensive bills this year from the van first and then later on for the car and we really need to buy that shed this year as well, so not sure how optimistic that might turn out to be. We shall see.
On a personal note I would like to lose a stone this year.1 -
Good goals there RS and I think they are realistic
You've already done so well over the past year I'm sure you will keep the momentum this year too

Good goals - and great that you're now overpaying the mortgage by a chunk each month too - it's one of those remarkably small things that can have a really big impact.
I spotted the dog on the MSE review of the year thing - he's such a character and as your diary got money tipped earlier in the year if I recall correctly I'm not surprised he was in there mind!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Brilliant goals for the coming year @RelievedSheff. Overpaying your mortgage whilst rates are low will put you in a better position when renewal rolls around, no brainier with your card debt being 0%.
Ha know what you mean re work, I can’t !!!!!! wait for Friday to roll around this week, worked 14 hour days since Tuesday and the list just keeps growing and !!!!!! growing haha. Didn’t completely switch off from business over Christmas either.1 -
It will be a no spends day today. Number 3 for January. A 50% strike rate so far. Will be happy if we can continue with that rate for this month.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was crumpets, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is Dexter steak burgers with air fried cajun chips, beer battered onion rings and homemade coleslaw.
No jobs for tonight other than walking the dog after work. We are going to get settled on the sofa with a few beers and a cheesy film and chill out. Looking forward too a nice lie in in the morning dog permitting.1 -

@RelievedSheff yeah it's definitely been a long week, bank holidays always throw everything out of sync.
Weekend at home doing nothing sounds nice, I'm hoping we do that on Sunday. Tomorrow I'll be working again.1
