The plus side of the car not being finished today was that it was after all a no spends day. Number 14 for May.0

Hopefully the car should be fixed today so it shouldnt be a no spends day.

Seems odd to be hoping not to have a NSD but I completely get you and hope it doesn't cost too much. Dinner sounds lovely, we are currently defrosting a batch cooked Bolognese for ours.

Fingers crossed we can have our car back today.1 -
A little bit of good news from the chancellor this afternoon. The fuel bill discount has been increased to £400 in October and is now a grant so will not need to be paid back.
It won't cancel out the price rises in October completely but it will go some way towards the cost.2 -
Yes it is good news.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

We did briefly have our car back today. But the other half has taken it straight back again after finding the engine trays and a load of bits that should be in the car in the boot instead.
He is fuming. They have refunded him the money he paid but that doesn't give him back the time he has spent backwards and forwards. He has walked back to work now to pick up the loan car again to get us home. Just waiting for him to pick me up now.0 -
I’m not surprised he was fuming 😡January spends - £587.580
