Garlic on the menu again - I approve! :)

Good news on the MOT, that must have been a relief, it's stressful enough when it's the car and I would imagine parts for a motorhome are far more expensive.
We get out MOT's at trade price so it was only £30.

There have to be some benefits to the other half's job because the pay isn't one of them  :D

It will be a no spends day today. Number 5 for April.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was crumpets, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is jerk pork loin with rice and vegetables.

    Today's jobs include:
    • vacuuming the house
    • cleaning the bathrooms
    • cutting the grass (if it's dry enough)
    • walking the dog

Mr SA used to have his van MOT’d by the council. For some reason they let him have it at staff prices. He’d never worked for the council but he never complained 😆
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

The last working day of the week. Thank goodness, it has been a busy week.

Not a no spends day today. I need to go to the shop tonight and pick a few bits up for our long weekend break in Norfolk.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was toast, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is pasta bake and garlic bread. A simple dinner after we have had a couple of beers.

We have a few jobs to do tonight after work. We got the bulk done last night though.
    • shopping
    • loading the food and clothes into the van
    • load of washing which will hopefully be dry when I get home
    • walking the dog
I plugged the van in this morning so that the fridge/freezer will be cold tonight when we get home so that I can load it up tonight. Hopefully that way I won't forget anything if I'm not rushing around loading it up. It will then be ready to go as soon as we get up tomorrow morning. Not sure what time we are setting off yet.

@RelievedSheff - I always write a list of what needs to go into the van when we go away so that I don't forget anything!

Years ago my friend and I left our husbands to sort out clothes etc for a weekend away and they met us at the station after work (they both got home earlier than us!) and when we got to the site we found they had forgotten to pack some essential clothes (ie no underwear!).  Fortunately we both used to be prepared with a clean pair of knickers in our bags so we were OK the first morning and then went off and bought new knickers and bras.

Now I write a list nothing like this has ever been repeated since!

  • Hope you have a good weekend away

We are both in charge of packing our own clothing. Don't trust the other half to do that :)

We leave the van packed up and fully loaded on the drive. It is only our clothes and food and drink that we need to pack each time. The last few times we have been out in it I have been forgetting daft things like milk or eggs because we have not been plugging it in until we get home so I have been rushing around packing the food just before we set off in the morning.

Decided not to do that this time for the £1 or so it would save in electric!!

The forecast looks lovely for where we are heading. Highs of 18-19 and sunny spells. Perfect walking weather.

Have a great weekend away. We’ve decided to stay at home over bank holidays and go away at quieter times. It’s still a big novelty not being tied to school holidays for us 😆
I forgot to put spare shoes in when we went to Cornwall and Dh ended buying some as he’d travelled in fur lined ankle boots and it was much warmer there than at home 😳😂
