Was probably a mistake heading to the coast on a school holiday weekend. It took two and a half hours to do a trip that should take an hour and 40 minutes. 

The beach was lovely when we did eventually get there and was very quiet. The rain held off for us as well.

The sea looked lovely and calm as well. It never was when we went past on the boat 🤣🤣🤣

 



The fish and chips were a disappointment. We decided not to go down into town and onto the seafront for them and pulled into one on the main road which proudly proclaimed to have been awarded the best fish and chips in the UK. Methinks they were lying! 

Still they were cheap enough. With full bellies we headed home in much better traffic and have just got back.

Time to put our feet up and have a beer now.

It should be a low spends day today. Just need to get some fruit and vegetables from the farm shop.

Breakfast and dinner will be from stores today. Beans on toast for breakfast and roast pork with all the trimmings later on. 

Today we are cleaning the van ready for the bank holiday weekend next weekend. It was an ordeal last time we did it so doubt this time will be any better. Need to get up on the roof and clean the solar panel.

Got a few inside jobs to do as well but nothing that will take ages.

We almost didn't get the van out of the drive. We contemplated just giving it a student wash on the drive because the weather didn't look promising. 

Despite looks though we didn't get wet, well not from the rain anyway 😀



We also managed to get a few jobs done inside when it was back on the drive so it has been a productive day. The van is ready to just drive off to the North Yorkshire coast next Saturday morning. 

Dinner is prepared for later so it is time to sit down with a few drinks now. Not too many mind, it's the first day back in the office tomorrow 😄
