Can see the traffic being bad if the weather is what they say it’s going to be. Get your OH to drive and crack open a beer haha.

Meant to say re dog know if I had a knee problem that either wouldn’t cause an issue or would completely !!!!!! me I’d get the preventative done. Book him in.

We have struck a deal with the driving. I'm driving on Friday, the other half is driving Saturday and Sunday and depending how hung over I am,  I am driving Monday.

We have got a while to decide what we do about the dogs knee. It isn't something we have to make a decision on right now. The vet is happy to do nothing for a couple of years yet and then make a judgement based on any future worsening or ifit has stabilised. Obviously if there is any decline or the dog starts to worsen rapidly then we will do what is necessary right away.

For now he is back to his usual self today and being a nuisance 😀

Have to say we tend to stay put for a bank holiday weekend but then we have the time available now we've retired so think that probably makes things easier!

Definitely be guided by the vet with regard to the dog.  They should be the ones who will know when the time is right.

Haha love it how you get the full weekend to enjoy the beer and the views. You’ve got it made and he’s far too soft, 100% I’d get the Mrs to drive all weekend if I had a van and I’d have a lie down in the back lol. Tbf not even sure you’re allowed to do that ha. Mind my Mrs probably got more chance of parking it better than I would fml when I saw that pic of it up the side of your house no !!!!!! way would I cope with that it’s an ongoing joke with my staff they save me two parking bays at the office.

£60 paid to Card 4 today and it's pay day.

It will be a no spends day. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was cereals, the other half has taken his packed lunch to work, I am having some chicken and vegetables for my lunch and dinner tonight is chilli in a giant yorkshire pudding with garlic bread.

    Today's jobs include:
    • working from home
    • vacuuming the house
    • dusting the house
    • watering the house plants
    • loading up the van
    • walking the dog x 2
We are heading off out in the van straight after work tonight. The other half will jump in the shower when he gets home and then we will get  going. We expect the roads will be fairly busy tonight with people doing the same thing, but we are in no great rush and we are not going far.

We have split the driving up based on the types of roads we will be on. I'm fine driving it on the larger A roads but not quite confident enough with it yet to be tackling the twisty turny narrow country lanes.

Wouldn't really fancy dropping the bed down from the ceiling and having a kip while he is driving (although it isn't allowed anyway) I can't imagine it would be the most relaxing experience :)

Fortunately we are both used to manoeuvring vehicles in tight spaces because it is tight in the drive. We have to watch the downpipes with the roof of the van. The drive has a crossfall towards the house so the top of the van roof is the closest point to the house and down pipes.

Reckon you’ll be ok for tonight re traffic.

Take it your OH is used to driving vans or something?

Haha re bed very true. Tbh on a long drive I quite enjoy my Mrs driving. She’s a good driver bit slow but very relaxing to be a passenger when she’s driving - always keeps to the limits and much over 250bhp is lost on her though she apparently likes to know ‘it’s there if required’ haha reckon she’s used the full 525 about 3 times ever fml.

You’re tripping me off just thinking about parking that van up at your house though lol sounds an absolute !!!!!! nightmare. Don’t get me wrong I’ve no problem driving so long as it’s driving driving lol but all those new build side drives are tight even in a decent sized car 100% feel for you.

The daft thing is that the house on the opposite corner to ours which is the same house type as ours has a drive that is 1m wider. We had the choice of the two houses when we bought ours. Had we known that we would be getting the van we would probably have chosen the other one but we preferred the kitchen and garden in this one.

At least it does fit on the drive and we can keep it at home. I don't know how people do it when they have to have them in storage. Would drive me mad having to go and fetch it to load it up or do little jobs on it. It's handy to just pop out when it's on the drive.

The other half is used to jumping in and out of lots of different cars and vans as part of his job, he can drive pretty much anything straight away. Although even he said it isn't very often that he drives something quite so wide. He drives longer vans on a regular basis but the extra width not so often.
