BlackCircles tyres... fitted service

Options
I've bought tyres off BlackCircles a few times in the past and they been very good, but always had them fitted by local tyre shop.
They ship from Germany (I think), so not sure how their fitted service works...?
Has anyone on here used them, did it work out ?
Are there other companies I should consider.
Just want cheap tyres to potter around village in...?
Thanks in advance for any comments....

  • They ship directly to the fitting garage and then you turn up whenever your appointment is.
  • Also look at Asda Tyres. I've found those to be consistently the cheapest and they work the same way, you buy online and book fitting at a local garage they use.

They offer you a choice of local fitters - probably including the one you've used before.

I have a decent local fitter who's part of the blackcircles network and was advised after I first got tyres via BC to contact him directly as he would always beat their price. Always worth checking with the fitters first.
  • I’ve found Etyres to be generally more competitive than Blackcircles. Etyres seem to have a wider choice as well;...I’ve used them several times this year. Booked online one day and fitted 0830am next day at local fitters. Excellent service.

Both my son and daughter have used the mobile fitting service “Tyresonthedrive’ in the past few weeks;...Goodyear tyres and cheaper than Blackcircle even with the fitting cost added on.

    https://www.tyresonthedrive.com/

E.g. my son ordered 2 x ‘Goodyear 235/50 R18 97V Eagle F1 (Asymmetric) 3 SUV’ tyres on Wednesday afternoon and chose a fitting timeslot of 0800am-1000am on the Friday morning. The tyres were £117.99 each and the extra fitting cost was an unbelievable 50p !

In both cases (son/daughter) tyresonthedrive turned up on-time and completed the job without issue.

Blackcircles are owned by Michelin, same as ATS, which is why the local tyre shop that fits them is ATS.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))
  • Tyres on the drive are actually owned by Halfords.

Good prices and a quick service - when they arrive.  I've used them twice.  The first time they arrived 30 mins after the end of the timeslot, the second was a horrendous 3 hours after the end of the (2 hour) timeslot.

It got to the stage I would price check online, then phone my local fitters and they in the end would say "What do you want to pay?"   I would ask them to match the cheapest and if necessary add a bit for fitting (somewhere around £7-£10 per tyre).

I used them recently, and they were fine. Delivered to a local fitter, who did a good job putting them on.

I asked that question of a local fitter but unfortunately he couldn’t get anywhere near ‘Etyres’ prices.

He specialized in ‘Landsail’ tyres and reckoned his prices were unbeatable on those;...I didn’t take him up on his kind offer though :) .
