When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important 😀

Morning folks! Hope I haven't cross-posted!
Lovely forgaing walk yesterday. The apples aren't really ready yet although we did bring home a few kilos that are ripening on the table now. We also got just shy of a kilo of blackberries. Main enjoyment was a walk in the warm sunshine though
Very mse as I forgot my purse and so no coffee and cake could be had
Started knitting a shawl for myself last night. I've not knitted anything other than socks before so it's a nice change.
Very non-mse thing happening today as we are going to get OH a drum kit. One has been found on FB marktplace for £500. I am assured that this is a bargain so we are going to view it after tea. Other than that, it'll be a pottering at the allotment and at home sort of day. Off to the gym at 9.30 though to start off.
Have a good one all

Morning all
Thanks CLF for starting us off.
The latter part of last week felt a bit of a bust and I didn’t really achieve much, though I’d had a great start last week. I slept really badly last night and was still awake at 4am so am expecting that I’ll end up having a nap at some point to catch up a bit. Am aiming to do the following things today:- Gym class 3.45pm (making use of gym membership while it remains)
- Shower and wash hair
- Take clean washing upstairs and put away
- Strip and remake bed
- Organise stuff in bedroom into items to sell, items for charity shop, items to redistribute/reorganise and stuff for bin
- Give fan back to mum
- Go to Aldi for fruit & veg for this week
- Make up a couple of days worth of overnight oats
- Make up quiche recipe for lunches at beginning of week
- Do an hour or two of work ahead of starting back on Tuesday after annual leave
- Do some printing out
- Take pictures of items I want to sell and put as many of them as I can on Facebook Marketplace to sell
- Swagbucks/Prolific/PMP
- Do some knitting

Afternoon one and all.
Well that's all been a bit different to planned! Workout was an absolute pig. 75 strict presses. Then a 200m run every time you put the bar down. I was very very last
OH then decided to rearrange his music room to accomodate the new drum kit so I went on a gardening mission. I chopped a bin-full of the hedge down (this will be a big mission as it got out of hand again due to my illness and OH's flu in Feb). Then I had a bit of a go at the path down the side of the houses. I planted a couple more spare plants to try and jolly it up a bit. And to show it's a path. Not a bin or a dog toilet
Going to rest up now with my knitting until we head over to get the drums

Morning guys
thanks for starting the thread CLF, your allotment & foraging tales sounds fun!
working today, 4th 12 hour shift out of 5. I have no idea whether we'll be so busy I'll have steam coming out of my ears or whether it'll be slow. If it's slow I hope to:
* load of washing & hang up on airer
* all meals from stores - bettter see what I'll have for lunch soon....
* last of the old bananas for breakfast
* replace zip on sofa cushion
* cut out fabric to make a jumper - I used my overlocker to make a skirt yesterday
* vacuum our bedroom and ds. I am all upto date with TOMM, in fact I'm a day ahead!
* email someone about an extra piece of allotment
* prepare lemons to make more jam
Ok think that will doDF as at 30/12/16

Morning folks
WFH today although my laptop is being a pig. For some reason it continually disconnects and reconnects to the wifi. We don't have this issue with our pc or phones.
So much for my sit down. Next thing I know, I've got a tin of hammerite in my hand and I'm painting the gate. Got it all over myself and no brush cleaner. Resorted to the only cheap alcohol in the house which was Callum Best EDT that OH got for Christmas a few years ago and doesn't really useI stank of the blimmin stuff all night. No amount of hand washing would get rid of the stink!
Just the usual today, will get back out with the Hammerite to try and finish the job later. And OH has been sent to the tip with a boot full of stuff. Broken office chair, broken push mower, knackered frying pan etc. He hates the tip poor chap.
Have a good one all

Evening allHad a lovely couple of days spent with family in a field surrounded by woodland with a big log fire. We were lucky with the weather, though it was chilly mornings and evenings
Spent today washing clothes to get the smell of smoke out
and unloading the van. We have only been camping twice this year, both times on private land belonging to family members. It was a bit chilly this time, so probably no more till next year
Hopefully by then things will be more normal and we will feel like venturing further afield. Anyway, today:
Early morning dog walk - dog was tired after running around all weekend, but we needed the exercise even if he didn't.Home grown raspberries for breakfast fruitRead meters and entered readings onto energy company's web site. They have put my monthly payment up loads - might be time to think about changing. Pity, as they are straightforward to deal with and they have a good app (Pure Planet)Fetched in bedding from the camper van, I don't keep it in there over winter, as it would get very damp. Now on landing waiting to be washed / sorted out and put away.Unloaded car boot treasures from the car (we went early on Sunday morning before we headed off to camp), mostly stuff for selling on, cleaned it, now on dining table waiting to either be put upstairs or go straight into sales unit.Business paperwork2 loads of washing done, first load dry, might have to finish the second load on the airer, as rain is forecast I think.Watered whatever needed it in the garden, propped up a wayward jalapeno plant in the conservatory. It has got so tall!Picked a bowlful of cherry tomatoes and gave the basil a good haircut.Made 3 pots of pesto and froze them. I love making pesto, messy but smells gorgeous. There will be enough for at least one more batch before the plants give up the ghost I thinkHalf baked potatoes, stir fried cajun chicken, HM coleslaw and salad for dinnerUsed tomatoes and cucumbers from the garden.

Hi All thanks for a sparkly new week. I am in a bit of a bubble this week, as my dear mom is having heart surgery on Thursday and I am so worried, at least I had a lovely weekend with her, that is the main thing, for now, and then the surgeons doing their thing tomorrow is the other thing. So I have put all spending on hold until I know when I can go and see her and how it all pans out.
Of small things I did mow the lawn and finish weeding the front yesterday, so I can start over in a week or so. I also picked an actual cucumber, a tomato and a fig in the garden yesterday. Not much of a harvest.
Today is back to work, working a full 3 day week! Time to apply for some more full time roles.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%
