Noticed my heating coming on a few times over last few days so I turned the thermostat down further than it normally is, OH hasn't noticed yet

No, I don't want to switch on my heat pump as the weather is warming up again next week. The reason I left it at 15C is because I was in the house this morning for 15mins and then out gardening for the rest of the day and the sun will be blazing in there all day so will be 20C for the rest of the day and evening. Didn't see the point at all.Talldave said:
What does justify it? Will you keep the living room at 15C in October and November?Swipe said:My living room is 15C this morning, can't justify the heating going on just yet. Will soon warm up once the sun comes out.

Had our heating on for a few hours yesterday. It wasn't massively cold at 19 degrees but it gave us chance to check it was all working properly ahead of the coming winter months. It hasn't been on since March!0

In the winter, my house is so cold the boiler on full throttle can only just get the livingroom/house to that temp.Talldave said:

But I'm so used to the cold when I go round other people's houses in winter the artificial heat stifles me, and usually pass out for 30-60 minutes and wake up a dribbling mess.0 -

I hate being cold. I don't think even mid winter with no heating on that our house would ever drop below 15 degrees. The joys of a super insulated new build

No one wants a new build until winter comes and they realise how inefficient and cold their old houses really areBiggus_Dickus said:

I too loathe cold weather.
I constantly keep my home at approx 32C so we get that Mediterranean summer-holiday vibe throughout the entire year.
Sometimes we place a beach-ball and a few deck-chairs in the lounge;... the holidaymakers favourite ‘Y Viva Espana’ can often be heard playing in the background as I sip my cooled San Miguel . It all adds to the authenticity.

I think we have all been trying to achieve that holiday atmosphere at home this year...........1
