Ours is still set for 16.5 degrees in the day. The house hasn't gone below 19 degrees since May.

My living room is 15C this morning, can't justify the heating going on just yet. Will soon warm up once the sun comes out.
  • For the sake of a few pence I see absolutely no reason to sit in a cold house. There is money saving and then there is being a miser.

Just checked my smart meter I used 13kWh of gas more than I am usually using with the heating off so it cost me 36p for heating from 18:15 to 23:30 so approx 7p an hour.

yes we had the heating going here, last few mornings. all seems ok. boiler pressure is ok. so it should be too. spent £350 few years ago having boiler rebuilt. that was as opposed to having a new boiler.

  • Can you get smart meters for shoes? Cos i'd love to know how much rubber i use every time i go to the shops. Then i could calculate how much it has cost me in pennies.
    TIA.

What does justify it? Will you keep the living room at 15C in October and November?

Still in summer duvet, all windows open, but been popping on a warmer jumper in the evenings now and left the house in long sleeves to walk the dog for one of the first time. Beautiful crisp morning! Now warm again!

  • Everywhere i have worked, the office temp was set to 18C. Almost everyone complained it was too cold.
