Parking ticket received at work/Being taken to Court

Leave it until Tuesday. They won't answer the phone on a Bank Holiday.4

Oh yeah, I completely forgot!
Will do, thanks.

The £70 debt recovery is in there and is double recovery , not allowed , so ensure this is mentioned
Write a bullet point list of everything that you have been told so far , as a crib sheet for your hearing , to remind you whilst on the phone , putting costs and fees in big at the bottom so you ask the judge for them at the end , no putting the phone down and then remembering later on
Please come back and tell us the outcome etc , we learn to help others through good feedback , good or bad
Perhaps consider sending the claimant and the Court a supplementary witness statement , even at this late stage
Your defence should have been mainly about legal points , not personal experiences , those are for your WS so the 2 should have been markedly different , but too late to change the Defence so you need a good WS ideally
Plus that crib sheet for the day , you do not want to miss anything out , stay calm , think about winning on legal points etc , don't just relive the day , it's not counselling !! Lol you need to score goals , not complain about a sprained ankle , so keep on focus , calm , unruffled , take a chill pill , aim to successfully defend plus to win the counter claim for a double whammy and beat those scammy chancers , do to them what they did to you , they tried to exploit you due to greed , so kick em where it hurts , because revenge is a dish best served cold5 -
Ah okay, thank you - I'll definitely make sure to point the double recovery out!
I'll get a supplementary witness statement sent over asap, it's worth a try.
& Oh dear I had no idea, but as you mentioned, I'll focus on the legal points on the day rather than how I feel and the story itself and that should hopefully allow me to have a stronger defence against them.
Thank you for the advice, and I will most certainly be back to let you all know how it goes!2 -
Not a question, just a quick update!
I received a call from Civil Enforcement today, from Scott Wilson - he said he had looked over everything I submitted, and ‘without giving too much away’, still felt they had a strong case against me. He then proceeded to say that he however felt ‘empathy’ for me due to my poor health, and wouldn’t want to put someone with hypertension through a hearing if it could be settled. He said he’d like to offer a ‘handshake’ - to be specific, he said ‘we’ll drop our case if you drop yours’.
I told him I needed an hour to think about it, and an hour later, a lady called on his behalf to see if I had made a decision. I told her despite their offer, I still wanted to proceed because I had spent a lot of irreplaceable time and energy defending myself, sourcing evidence etc. She said that was fine, and the call ended.
I’m happy I managed to stay calm and polite, despite being annoyed that they’d have the audacity to call me after all this😂
Anyway, will be back on the 15th to let you all know how it went!5 -
Good for you!
Please now make a real difference - A TASK FOR SEPTEMBER.
The Government is (this month only) consulting about a new statutory code of practice (CoP) and framework to rein in the rogue parking firms. Read and comment on the draft CoP proposal and the enforcement framework consultation, and get everyone you know to do the same.
You will need to register to comment on the CoP and enter an occupation even if you are retired or a homemaker, but otherwise it is easy to navigate, and comment upon each section/subsection individually. You can save comments to edit later and or submit comments once you are happy with them.
https://standardsdevelopment.bsigroup.com/projects/2020-00193#/section
You do not need to register to comment on the enforcement framework which can be found here. It has a link on page 5 to make comments.

At the very least, we say the parking charge level should be £50/£25 or higher level £70/£35, as per Council PCNs in E&W.
And we say the added fake 'debt recovery' costs are just double counting the cost of letters, and MUST GO because that is unfair and illegal.
Please be heard. You can bet the hundreds of PPCs will be commenting. No apologies for repeating this vital 'call for action' to consumers, on every thread this month!

You can listen into a court hearing as a member of the public.
How would that work is, say, 20 people applied? Perhaps we should organise an audience of volunteers.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Have you asked the court if a copy fo the landholder cotnract was in their copy of the bundle?
They must file and serve the exact ssame bundle on all parties. THey are not permitted to hide documents from one side. THis should be a serious sanction.2
