How long for the Police to remove untaxed car?

And do you think a car with no insurance would be looked into more quickly than one with no tax? Providing the latter isn't really causing an obstruction?Barny1979 said:
Yes, as it is a Criminal offence.Conrad3000 said:
It's on the street. And incidentally, there's another one with no insurance 😩Homer_home said:
Whereabouts is the car? On the street , carpark? where?Conrad3000 said:Hello folks. Should it take more than week since it was reported because the car's still there.
And same goes for non-MOT and non-insured cars too.
Thanks.
Does that have to be reported directly to the Police?

I work for a council - council's don't deal with untaxed or uninsured vehicles. They do deal with abandoned vehicles. If we get a report of an abandoned vehicle, then we have to serve notice/write to the last RK - if we get no response, then it may be removed eventually - not a priority as it has to be lifted away and stored for a period after a notice is served which costs. Most end up getting crushed.
Where I work, nobody was put on furlough - anyone whose job couldn't be done was re-tasked to help out elsewhere particularly on the emergency food deliveries early on. Although services are getting back to normal, most employees are working at home. Even depot staff are having to work single crewed or with screens in vehicles, and jobs are taking twice as long due to social distancing and reduced access with suppliers/waste sites/clean down procedures and so on and so on.
