Thanks for the responses, guys. And the car was reported via the .gov website for untaxed vehicles.0

Report to your local or district council, they can investigate abandoned vehicles.Conrad3000 said:Thanks for the responses, guys. And the car was reported via the .gov website for untaxed vehicles.0 -
Operations teams may not have changed but I would say they would have a backlog of work from when they weren’t allowed to do it. Would this be classed as an essential task?Barny1979 said:
I'm not aware of any councils putting staff on Furlough, yes many will be working from home, but operational teams have not changed.Scottishgal87 said:Don’t forget a lot of councils have put staff on furlough/working from home etc. Things aren’t back to normal and will take longer than usual. Your statement was furlough was just made up, in terms of operationally, the only issues are in terms of social distancing, there may be a backlog as there are more curtain twitchers sat at home on Furlough with nothing better to do than strett that a car legally parked has not moved for a few days, not referring to the OP's example.Scottishgal87 said:

It was my understanding that public sector, including local authorities, were not allowed to make use of the Furlough scheme.0

Sorry confused. Work in the same building as my local council and can tell you yes some departments have been furloughed (as there is no work for that specific department) and some working from home. There is definitely not the same number of staff working in the building as there was per lockdown. And don’t forget shielding also affected the workplace. So a backlog is feasible taking into account many factors even before we consider how long would it have taken pre lockdown?Barny1979 said:

I didn't say people didn't work from home, a lot have been working from home since mid-March including those shielding. Are you sure those departments are employed directly by the council or contractors? It is likely staff furloughed by councils are in their leisure and tourism departments, not operational teams such as Environmental Enforcement.Scottishgal87 said:

Yes sorry not furloughed. Environmental enforcement probably have bigger priorities than abandoned cars. Where I live dumps have not long reopened, large rubbish collection has just resumed, so I’m sure things like picking up abandoned cars has probably not been done especially with all the illegal fly tipping that has taken place, which may be more of a priority. And in my councils area even pre lockdown you could be waiting a while for them to actually do something like pick up abandoned cars.0

I work in the public sector, I have been affected by Wuflu but not as bad as some people, my Council are running operations at the best level they can like all Council's I suspect and I've been 'reliably' informed we can't be furloughed, not that I've 'fact-checked' it because like I said I've been affected but not as bad as some, just gotta get on with it.0
