Home made play dough might be fun too.

Hope you feel better soon. You have to look after you to be able to layer look after you. Well done on DS's reading and your library
My parents bought a load of play dough, but I must investigate whether it’s still ok or not… Can it ever be rescued?

My library has been my dream forever and I was insistent I needed a room for it and happily agreed for DH to have the garage all to himself. This is the deal we struck on buying the house!

Feeling very slightly better today. Tried to rest as much as possible, so DH has been on child duty all day. He said after just one day of looking after a baby he can no longer think straight and everything is fuzzy. I was quite amused… welcome to my world!! He kept everyone alive, but I was still the one to do two loads of washing, put all the clean clothes away, refill the washing up liquid (apparently it is “too hard” for anyone else to pour it out, even though it takes under a minute), changed all the beds, reminded DH when to change DD, dosed DD up with stuff to help her teething multiple times and made myself some tomato soup for lunch.

Anyway - hopefully he will be more impressed on weekdays now when I tell him I’ve done two loads of washing and everyone is still alive!

Was looking forward to a good nights sleep last night to shake off the last of this cold thing, but DD had other ideas. The second I decide she is sleeping nicely and I am going to sleep, she decides it is time to play up. She insisted on being cuddled and so I put her next to me in the bed so I could lie down and read. Apparently that was not sufficient and she grabbed me with both hands to pull herself right into me and snuggle up very close. By the time she was very asleep and some milk feeds later, I finally got to sleep about 1am 😥

DH got up with her at 6am and then took DS to school as well. When hey got back DD had fallen asleep and was clearly knackered after her nighttime antics as she slept for 2.5 hours!!

Trying to leave the house remains a comedy of errors. DD eventually woke up and I managed to leave the house in the car. Fish shop is 5 mins drive away, but I got really close and everyone was turning round because the road was closed. I went a stupidly long way round to approach from the other way and discovered that you can’t get there and the signs the other way must be wrong and be able to access only. So I went all the way back and was passing our house when DD suddenly got very car sick and had a major sick. It was everywhere and she was completely dripping. So I just went back to the house, washed her 3 times and stayed at home 🤦‍♀️. What a palaver… Going to need to bath her soon as no matter how thoroughly I washed her, I can still smell sick…

So the pantomime of trying to leave the house continues. DH said I should go to a NT property. I pointed out that would be a 25min+ drive and since I seem unable to get 5 mins away, what on earth made him think I would be able to achieve that?!

Hopefully tomorrow I will be leaving the house (but on my own) to go and get my new phone that I’ve saved up for and a short list of things in town. Hopefully I won’t veer too far off the list!

I’m also doing my own little declutter 30 day challenge where I have to get rid of 1-30 things (a different number gets ticked off per day). Hopefully it’ll be slightly more interesting and I should be in pretty good shape by the end. I’ve been very busy taking photos of lots of things to put on my local buy nothing group and bagging things up for charity.

Oh and Sat night we had fireworks in a house nearby. It is October 😡. I feel for the people with pets that have no warning.

What’s wrong with just 5 November and the nearest weekend?

Today is not a good day and I’m really struggling. Been looking up PND, but to be honest I don’t think I have it, although will be heading that way if I’m not careful.

Need to do something about it, but not sure what at the moment. Would help if DH ever talked about anything at all, ever. He thinks everyone should just get on with stuff. Sometimes I find out stuff when in a conversation with someone else altogether and I can’t believe he didn’t say anything.

The one upside today is that I still had a bowlful of free apples from the garden yesterday and so I turned them all into baked apples. I had one last night with yogurt and there’s plenty more for the next few nights worth of puddings. I may go across the road and take the remaining apples from the tree there too as it hangs over the road and the people who own the tree don’t seem to use them (wish I knew that before as I could have taken them all - lots have fallen off an spoiled).

DH had the day off today (but a guilt day off as he is taking DS out all day Sunday and leaving me on my own with DD). Dropped DS off at school and then attended a school meeting telling us about phonics and learning. It was good to hear the things they say to do we are already doing.

Tried to inject a bit of normality/interest into the day and so I made a vanilla traybake with icing and hundreds and thousands. DS can have it for pudding while I continue to eat my way through the baked apples. I already scoffed a piece earlier…

The fish saga continues.. tried to go again straight after lunch. Found that it has now been closed down and so went to another one very slightly further away. By the time we got there DD was exhausted, just cried and wasn’t interested, so we left and she fell asleep in the car. 😫

Popped into the farm shop on the way home and picked up a lovely steak and ale pie for dinner (they gave it to us straight from their oven - made from scratch on the premises), I found some chutney (never did find any to replace the one I used to love from Riverford) and also got some cooking apples and plums which I am sure I will turn into a pudding in a few days. Expensive shop, but I could happily spend lots of time in there!

Did also order myself a top and some comfy boots online to cheer myself up a bit. I haven’t really spent any money on myself for about 5 years, so trying not to feel too guilty about that. Plus I ordered my phone (been in the planning for a long time) and it was a bit cheaper than the amount I saved, so I just spent the difference.

Should be feeling better after a slightly more interesting day, but I am just not. Also knackered as DD was a bit cuddly in the night due to teething and then she got up at 5am! Need to fix that before the clocks go back otherwise it’ll be 4am!

In relation to mortgages, I must look into the next fix and try to get it sorted before the rates go up! I think you can fix in advance, so will have a look when I remember..

Didn’t have a good night last night - it is illegal in DD’s world to have two in a row as that’s what I need to feel less tired. She ended up cuddling up to me for half the night. I got her back in her own bed for an hour off so before she got up and noticed she had cold hands. Eventually I worked out today that she must have been a bit cold overnight and that’s why she wouldn’t sleep in the cot. I feel really stupid for not realising earlier, but I did keep checking her chest and back and they were both warm. She was obviously just very slightly cool and so her body diverted heat from her hands. Feel guilty about it now, but dressed her in something a bit warmer for tonight. Hopefully that’ll be enough.

Still working out a bit on temperatures as it’s always been warm since she was born. DS was always warm and still often refuses to dress and wanders around the house in his pants! DD feels the cold more like me.

Must be almost time to put the bathroom towel rails on. We have a heat pump which does the floors downstairs and a filter system which heats it upstairs too. The towel rails are for extra heat when it gets cold. They are only on all day in extreme cold.

Managed to leave the house today with all of us. Went to a different park and fed the ducks. Had to bf next to a car park (glamorous), but I had my cover with me and DD seemed fine with it. Apart from the car park no money spent. We left earlier than we wanted as DD was a bit overwhelmed and started crying a bit. Also it was getting close to her dinner time anyway and she loves her food.

Fingers crossed DD will let me sit downstairs for a bit and watch TV. Our recorder is permanently on about 98% full as I haven’t watched TV for ages, but recorded everything I wanted to see. Need to get that under control! Will still be in bed by 9:30 as DD will be up early and DS and DH are going out for the day.

Trying to scan the news only quickly at the moment as I’m finding it depressing. The world seems a bit crazy at the moment.
