Another night cuddling a baby for a couple of hours between 1am and 3am 😬. I think it was teething this time…
DS said he didn’t want to go out with DH and so DH said he was going on his own and left me with DD and DS all day. Pretty annoyed since there was no conversation and I was just told. Hate having no control whatsoever on my own life.
Anyway, everyone survived, were fed, had naps, had lots of happy playtime and somehow or other I managed to tidy up, put all the clean clothes away, do two loads of washing and hang it up, change all the beds, do a couple of quick mending jobs and make an Eve’s pudding. Maybe DH should leave more often?!
I am tucking into the yummy pudding whilst DH is on bedtime duty.2025 decluttering: 3,993🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

Glad it worked out. I'd be tempted to plan an activity on your own outside the house and leave DH with the kids regardless of what is kicking off at least once a week.

My DD was BF until 10 months and I still left her for hours. She refused to drink a bottle too but I was told she could get liquid from food. HTHAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

HTHI seem to remember from last time though that definitely by 12 months it is just two milks (one waking up and one before sleep), so it can’t be too long before she has some big gaps. She’s just started eating a lot more food in the last few days, so I am hopeful she will drop a feed soon.. she’s almost 7 months now.2025 decluttering: 3,993🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

Not much happening here. DD still likes to interrupt my sleep for apparently no reason (probably teething related). The one night she didn’t, DS did instead as he had a cough that was keeping him awake 🤦♀️ (just a cold).
Bought myself a second hand dress and long winter coat (mine is more a jacket) to cheer myself up. Feel bad now as although I didn’t spend much as they were second hand and both will definitely be used, they weren’t strictly needed..
I’ve been completely neglecting money matters for a while and need to get myself sorted. Need to stop buying stuff and sort out some full but important things. Got car insurance, service, MOT and the mortgage fix to deal with in the next month 😬. Hope there is nothing wrong with my car!
Also got the cleaner back today and the hairdresser on Thursday (both delayed due to COVID/COVID scares). I haven’t had my hair cut for 2 years and it is really weighing down my head 🤣. It is so long it’s ridiculous (yes I can sit on it).
My phone line hasn’t been working for a couple of weeks. When I rang up there are lots of outages in the area apparently. I keep getting text updates, but apparently Openreach are short staffed. As I reported it I get £8 everyday they don’t fix it. I think I won’t be paying any phone/internet bills for the rest of this year already.. Should help get rid of the last of the joint account borrowing. It was at -£500 last month, but definitely will go by the end of the year.
Before anyone asks why I need a phone line anyway, the reception in my house is terrible. I barely ring anyone though, so I’m not too bothered at the moment.
Right, better go and hurriedly make sure everything is off the floor so the cleaner can hoover when she arrives.

Stupidly excited this morning about my new purchases arriving and everything was the quality I was hoping for and it all fit! As I say, bit naughty as not strictly needed, but they will all be used and are all very sensible items for walking around in the winter. I did also try to buy ethically and I have to say I love my bamboo socks and vegan DMs already 😊
DD is changing up her routine at the moment and it feels much more manageable/sensible to me. She is still getting cuddled in the night though.. I’m hoping she’ll grow out of that one soon. She’s also now addicted to some baby snacks I got her. I wanted her to always have something to hold and eat herself rather than just the purées for each meal and I just don’t have the time to always make something when she’s being silly and clingy. She will eat them until she’s almost sick, so I have to control them. Maybe I should make her go cold turkey instead? 😂
Been continuing my decluttering of 1-30 items a day (picking a different number each day) and I’ve been a bit surprised I’ve got more to get rid of. I think I’m pretty much there now, so there is just the odd thing here or there to get rid of. But I am allowing digital stuff too and I have tons of screenshots and various other photos to delete. So I will continue restarting the challenge every 30 days as it makes me think about it and hopefully will stop so much stuff coming into the house. Not that I can control much around Xmas etc.. I am attempting to control family a bit re: the kids, but am only partly successful right now. It’s a work in progress! At least DS’s room at the toys downstairs are now just the ones that are played with all the time.
Still got tidying to do, but the place is looking a lot better recently and it’s generally just two rooms which are the dumping grounds. Need to slowly work my way through this! Listed a bunch of stuff for the local buy nothing group and started boxing up some charity stuff.Checked out mortgages earlier, figured out the right one and now just need to try to apply for it online. Also had a chat with DH about all the going back to work options I have and it makes my head hurt. No final conclusion yet, but as always the answer always seems to be to save as much money as possible at the moment to buy maximum flexibility later. So need to go back to the finances when I am paid next week, see where we stand and put in some more goals.2025 decluttering: 3,993🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

It’s also the last of the Eve’s pudding and custard tonight 😱, so I am currently trying to decide what to make next with the plums. Recipes and suggestions gratefully received!
