Yeah - I usually use them for stuff that can't be resold/reused as is, but could be recycled.  I have some baby clothes which are fine to be reused, which was why I was wondering.  I want them to be reused rather than recycled.  But looks like Oxfam will come to my rescue here!

Sorry, I'd misunderstood then. I think both, but I think sending to Oxfam/taking to charity shop is probably preferable for good stuff - after all, I wonder about the state of those bins! Didn't know that about Oxfam - interesting!

It's been a bit of a jam packed week. Thursday DS went to a stay and play at his new school, DD got her jabs and we had parents "evening" for DS. I was very pleased to hear DS loves books as I really love them and was hoping i would be passing that on. He does have a lot of books sourced by me (second hand of course)! I have just bought him a picture dictionary as a going to school present - will give it to him the night before school. Any excuse for books on this house 😂. I sourced the one I wanted much cheaper second hand of course..

DH and I had to divide and conquer a bit and so he took DS to the stay and play. The new teacher talked to DS and apparently he was very polite. It's nice to know I am doing something right! DH said there was a kid there that was decked out in head to toe Ralph Lauren... I think I'm on the opposite of that scale! DS was wearing jeans from ASDA (which were bought by family) and I patched the knee up as he wore right through it.

DD thankfully hasn't been too bad with these jabs. Today we used our National Trust membership to have a walk and a nice picnic in the shade before it got too hot. DD loved it so much that she refused to sleep and eventually fell asleep exhausted on the way home! We had sandwiches and spicy salad for lunch followed by peaches and yogurt - all made up from my veg/fruit box delivery and topped up with herbs and rocket from the garden. The salad I made up was so nice that I'm going to make it again tomorrow to go with omlettes!

This afternoon some friends came over for a few hours with their DD. She loved playing with DS so much that she refused to go home for quite a while! DS also loved it and has been so excited all day.

Dinner was roast chicken followed by a plum crumble (made from my fruit box delivery). A very good day all round and I now have two very exhausted children! Let's hope they both sleep well tonight!

Things are all feeling very difficult at the moment, so am having a bit of a break and trying to look after myself better.  Just popping on to update on July results and setting some slightly more relaxed goals for August.

    So July goals:
    • Debt to joint: £1,651 (aim £1,650).  £1 out - I'll take that!
    • NSD 17/15
    • Online listings 27/10
    • 2021 Charity donations 4/4
    • Tech fund £783.03/£1,000
Pretty successful all things considered.  Now I have no more nursery fees (for a few months anyway), I'll be able to quickly get rid of that deficit and start building up my pots as everything is really tight at the moment.  Will probably do this for a couple of months to catch up and then reroute the cash back to my ISA etc.

    So August goals will be:
    • Debt to joint £650
    • NSD 15
    • Charity donation 1
    • Tech fund £1,000
Will probably pop in and out, but will be back when I'm feeling more myself.

Sorry to hear things are a bit rough at the moment. You’re doing the right thing taking care of yourself! You did brilliantly in July on your goals, hope you can relax and enjoy August  with your two little ones and have a bit of a break.

Look forward to you returning refreshed and enthused when you’re ready! (It’s a long haul - we all have times when we need a break, you’re not alone in that)

     Take care x
