    Here’s a reminder of absolute rights when your flight is cancelled.
    Eu reg ec 261/2004

    “ Article 8

    Right to reimbursement or re-routing

    1. Where reference is made to this Article, passengers shall be offered the choice between:

    (a) - reimbursement within seven days, by the means provided for in Article 7(3), of the full cost of the ticket at the price at which it was bought, for the part or parts of the journey not made, and for the part or parts already made if the flight is no longer serving any purpose in relation to the passenger's original travel plan, together with, when relevant,

    - a return flight to the first point of departure, at the earliest opportunity;

    (b) re-routing, under comparable transport conditions, to their final destination at the earliest opportunity; or

    (c) re-routing, under comparable transport conditions, to their final destination at a later date at the passenger's convenience, subject to availability of seats.”

  • Just been given a load of excised by Easyjet. Due to fly to Nice in March, but the flight has not yet been cancelled although originally the Nice flight was to cease in October. Apparently flights are no longer on sale but one member of staff said my flight would depart even if I was the only person booked on it. The other member of staff said no decision had been made, wanted to know why I was guessing about next year. Said I would definitely know at least 7 days before date of travel. Didn't seem to get I needed to cancel hotel and rebook with another airline so needed the refund. First person hung up. Said I shouldn't believe what I read in the press. Don't think I will ever fly with them again. Anyone else got info on the Newcastle to Nice route?

    Newcastle airport is owned by local authorities, if you can be bothered, you could put in a FOI request to one of the local authorities and try and find out if easyJet have changed the contract with Newcastle airport for the period that your flight was planned to take place.
