If you want the latest & greatest then go for latest OLED models from LG or Sony. You won't be disappointed with either.
Are you sure about that? This poster wasn't very impressed with their LG OLED television:

Probably in the minority. Plasma tv’s had even more horror stories about burn in yet my Pioneer Kuro Plasma has been fine.

We have a Hisense 4K LED TV.  We watched Blue Planet II on it in 4K, it was absolutely fantastic, and it is not an expensive TV.   Oh, and it is only a 43 inch one.
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare
  • I like Blue Planet, but what else can you watch in 4K please?

Plenty of content on Netflix and Amazon Prime if you subscribe to such services.

Plenty SkySports content and Sky movies and Sky Boxsets etc are 4K
  • Ah, no good to me then, says i need a 25mbit connection, and i'm on 5mbit.
I'll just watch FULL HD 1080p, and not sit 3 miles away from the telly :)

Lots of 4k on u tube, fab pic, lousy programmes!
  • Excellent. I've just watched a 4K stream on utube. It looked really good on my 1080p Monitor. In fact, it looked even better than the 1080p stream.
    Incredible :)

Can I just say:  John Lewis or Richer Sounds - extended warranties included on TVs.
  • Thank you for the advice, I went for an LG in the end and I love it. A vast improvement on my previous telly. I absolutely love how clear the colors are.
