Morning folks!
Whew! another busy day chez Fanta. OH went to the gym and then was teaching until mid afternoon so I whizzed round the house and sorted it out a bit and whipped the hoover round. Also moved a de-rigged bed frame out from under our bed and tucked it behind the wardrobe. Cannot think why this had never occurred to me before as it's a nice improvement. Means that OH doesn't accidentally stand on it and it doesn't catch the middle leg of our bed and knock it sideways!
Original plan was to go foraging after OH finished work but the weather wasn't as nice as promised. Sat down to order the sleepers I wanted. 4x£15 - very nice. Then they wanted £49.50 p&p!! I don't think so sunshine! Drove up to Wickes instead (dropping off the Ziffit stuff en route) and bought them outright then off to the allotment and built the "wall". Where we have cleared the berm at the back, there is an excess of soil and it's on a slope so we wanted to build a retaining edge and level it off. Still some levelling to do but the wall looks great. Once it's sorted we are ready to start the back properly! Another plot holder has offered us a bath to use as a pond. Hopefully this will appear. The same lady also gifted us a marrow. Looks like an unintentional marrow to me but I'm sure I can find a use for it.
We were both shattered but pleased with ourselves and I'll admit that there wasn't really a struggle over a chinese and a couple of beers. Luckily my neighbour appeared as we got home and passed me a bottle of wine as a thanks for feeding their cat while they were away so we didn't need to go back out for anything. Ordered 3 chinese meals instead of two which means we can have it again for dinner tonight. They also sent chips as an extra which I am going to fry up into a fritata for lunch.
Today is forgaging day. We are both looking forward to it as it's something that OH has suddenly gotten really in to. I think it appeals to his inner hunter (although stalking apples is fairly easy
).
