Morning folks - urgh to 5am starts. I seem to often wake up earlier as I'm wondering if it's time to wake up IYSWIM! Woke at 10 past 4 today
Still been to the gym and ticked that off. Now I'm in work (all on my lonesome today although just can't be bothered to wfh). Got a weird little report to write up and that's it really. Not sure if I'm in this Friday or not.
Made the jelly last night. Cooked it slightly too long as the set is a bit stickier than optimal. Still, it wobbles so it can't be too bad. Haven't sampled any yet!
Today's plan:B/L/D from stores - done
OH going to his mum's. Bad for petrol but good for gas/elec - done
Finish glove, add rim to booties and wash items to pass to new owner - finished
Epilate as didn't do it last night - nope. Hairy still.
Poss finish sock. Am on the toe now. They are for my dad for Christmas. Man-size socks take sooooo much longer than clf sized socks! - did a couple of rows but was tired.
Picked a few blackberries by work on my lunch break
Have a good one all

- Chuck a load of weeds and prunings in brown bin✅
- Take pictures of a couple of items and put on Facebook Marketplace to sell
- Find previously printed freezer and cupboard inventory lists
- Do something with raspberries, blackberries, peach and lemon before they go off
- Look for SW card
- Sort out gym gear for class on Thursday morning✅
- Write cancellation letter for gym to take in on Thursday ✅
- Swagbucks/Prolific✅
- Scan optician receipt on Receipt Hog✅
- Do some knitting/crocheting✅

Morning folks!
Oooof feel sleepy today for no reason! Didn't do all my list last night but I did finish the mittens and booties, so the set is ready to be washed and sent to its rightful owner. Did a couple of rows of the socks too and balled a skein of yarn. A brand new circular knitting needle also arrived in the post for me
Knitters - I am looking at a set of interchangeable circulars for (shhh christmas). Would you recommend the Addi click ones or Knitpro? (or other?)
Not much going on in work for me today so I'm hoping that they won't need me in tomorrow. It will help as m-i-l is already trying to organise when we are going to hers. I assume that this means we'll also be cooking at least one meal for her and my niece so I'll need to sort the meal plan accordingly.
Today's things:B/L/D from stores
Paid. Have moved to holding account until budget day (now mid month)
Check PMP
Finish sock
Sort meal plan and shopping. Do not wake up at 5am realising that you have only ordered 10 bananas.
Prep everything for early start tomorrow. Althoyugh if I'm not needed, will move to 9.30am class and have a lie in.
Booked an appoitment to see about a pre-paid funeral plan. Foxgloves' diary reminded me that it's something I've been meaning to look into, I'm hoping not to need it for a good 40-50 years yet but it's cheaper and easier to get it paid for and organised now.
Have a good one all

Morning CLF
gosh funeral pre-payment that is very grown up!
I managed to sleep until 9 this morningfelt a bit sad to realise I only have today and tomorrow then I am back to work and next week hails the beginning of autumn (to me) madam returning to school and back to the previous rhythm. I am both looking forward to it and feeling wistful for the 6 months that we holed down together!
Today:
*TOMM - kitchen. House is looking pretty spick and span since I've returned to it this weekI do a thing where I when I do a room I take a washing basket. Everything that shouldn't be in that room goes in to it. At the end of 30 mins I set a 10 min timer and go around to the other rooms putting things away in that room and taking out things that don't belong
AMAZING how much time there is in the day if I'm not cleaning and tidying constantly!
* load of washing - I will hang out when it finishes
* finish the poppers on the last pad
* chop and freeze beans - didn't do yesterday!
* chopped, peeled and froze 12 BNS from Tuesday
* will chop and freeze more apples to make a braised red cabbage when I pick one up
* prepare limes for jam. These need to be seeped overnight
* I'm going to put a band and cuffs on two on one tops I got for madam and make them slightly snugger sweatshirts
* might I do my dress today? Not feeling confident about downsizing the skirt bit... haven't done the dress but I am on a bit of a roll. I've repaired a wolly hat and some leggins where the seam had split. These had been sitting in my *must sew* pile forever! Think I'm going to get the overlocker down and attempt again to understand it!
* meeting a friend her girl/madam's friend for a bike ride and a catch up later - rained off
* water veggies in GH
* might get to the allotment later but depends on weather - rained off
I've been making beeswax wraps for the last hour, very therapeutic! And using up more scraps!
Wow more than enough!DF as at 30/12/16

I know! I think I'm a weird mix of grown up over some things and child-like over others. It's all pre-paid funeral plans on one side, and saving worms from being stepped on and Pusheen on the other!
It was something that I started thinking about after f-i-l died last year. Despite the fact he was so ill and wouldn't make old bones, it was clearly something that he and m-i-l had never wanted to discuss. No one knew what he wanted and there was a lot of organising and worrying about finances at a pretty distressing time. I figure that if I get it sorted now, that OH (or others?) won't have to worry about it when the time comes. Especially if it comes early or out of the blue.LBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.315 -
Hi
Wow CLF, a pre-paid funeral plan is very organised. I completely understand your thinking though.@determined_new_ms - is there a specific pattern you follow to make your sanitary pads? It’s something I’m looking to start making soon and like the sound of the ones you’ve been making.
Had a bit of a rubbish day yesterday and didn’t achieve much but hoping for a significantly better day today.- Strip and remake bed
- Take clothes upstairs and put away
- Get brother to put stuff on high shelves in bedroom
- Clear off chair in bedroom
- Go through a couple of boxes in bedroom
- Stocktake freezers, cupboards and fridge✅
- Meal plan with mum and brother for next week and a half
- Do something with raspberries, blackberries, peach and lemon before they go off
- Look for SW card
- Take pictures of a couple of items and put on Facebook Marketplace to sell
- Swagbucks/Prolific
- Do some knitting/crocheting

Bethanroni I use luna wolf pads currently. My original ones I self drafted with the standard pad with wings in mind. Luna pads have more straight lines for the wings which are easier to do the top stitching at the end. The pattern is free and you can tip her the cost of a coffee if you are so inclined. (I did as I use the pattern to sell) I'm going to invest in a new pattern which is £7 when I get my next order, this pattern is the more rectangular/triangular style.
I have about 10 and they are plenty for my needs, some of them are 3 years old and still plenty of life in them. I think they say they ca last up to 10 years if cared for properly
I use fleece as the top layer to wick away the moisture and I use a couple of layers of thin toweling for the core. I went up market and bought some zorb for the last lot but haven't had any feedback on those yetDF as at 30/12/16

Hi all, Thanks for this weeks thread @determined_new_ms (How has it got to Thursday already??!!)
Dh is on holiday this week so we're all a bit up in the air.
In the way of small things so far this week...
We've had all meals from stores
Banking all checked and spreadsheet updated.
Walking out to post rm survey items - used to drive to the post box
Filled various holes and touched up paint after all our furniture moving this year!
Picked blackberries and made a lush apple and blackberry crumble (kids were gutted that they didn't get seconds as my parents called in for dessert!)
Got kids to check their bags/uniforms/kits etc ready for school.
Take care all.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.
