Afternoon guys
Have had a nice morning pottering around
made the marrow & ginger jam and it is delicious! Made 3 pots so one will be a gift to my f-i-l, I've made some plum & port jam for another friend as her and her dd love it, and that should be us for jam for the year!
I've been testing out various scraps on the overlocker - I am determined to get my head around it! Might post a stitch that I think is balanced on a discussion forum I'm on so I can get some advicefeedback on how to improve!
* I've TOMM already so the house is looking spick (just in time for me to return to work and it all fall apart!) Sorted out the larder at the back (it was an embarrassing nightmare!) and got a bag to go to charity and 3 bags of fabric scraps. All in the garage ready to re-home next time I go in to town and can donate
* I want to list a couple of pairs of shoes of madam's for sale. one school pair are clarks and hardly worn!
* Go through fridge and reorganise/wipe down. I still haven't done this!
* charge work phone and keyboard ready for work
* make a frittata for the next few days at work and use up kale picked the other day
* signed mortgage renewel, new rate is £60 less pm. Just oh to sign and it's all done for another 5 years
Ok that's all I have to do today

Afternoon all,
@DawnW I agree, it definitely feels autumnal but my head is still in March!
@determined_new_ms You're sounding very organised! Plum and port jam sounds delicious!
We've been our to visit my folks for an hour this morning, didn't call in to the little co-op like I would have done pre-covid. We are sticking with our once a week shop and our monthly icyland delivery.
Checked banking and did the payday money shuffle.
Film night with dh, we are thinking we'll start watching the Marvel films again
Leftovers for tea tonight, another chicken dinner.
Take care all.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Morning guys
working today so don't think I'll have time for much but hope to:
* all meals from stores - have as many use ups as possible
* tidy up/wipe down the fridge - I will do this today!
* tinker around with my overlocker - made a step forward yesterday!
* finish dress - again I will finish this today! (I want to wear it tomorrow!)
* madam going for a sleep over at the inlaws tonight so need to pack her bag up
work has agreed to a change in my working pattern so from Oct I will be working fixed days so need to go through rota, update calendar and work out what days madam needs to go to asc next term. Will get oh to text his ma and see if she'll have her any days
That's all and I better think about getting ready!

Morning folks!
Am feeling very soppy this morning and really happy to have met so many kind people on this little corner of the internet
Must keep this under wraps or it'll ruin my gittish reputation
It felt very cool last night. Our bedroom finally down to 19 degrees so the blanket was deployed on top of the summer duvet (only 3tog - we run warm). Very cosy and lovely and making me think of pumpkins and cinnamon.
Bit of a busy day yesterday as we went to the gym, got the shopping, then up to m-i-l's via the scooter showroom. Could not find said showroom depsite being at the correct address. Which was, a bit disturbingly, a run-down industrial area of Birkenhead. Decided to look up other scooter place that we pass on my way to work and have found that it looks very good, very professional and very catered for nervous/new riders. They even do ladies' only classes. Not that it worries me but I think it's a measure of the calibre of the place that they consider it.
I have a very long bank holiday list that is rolling:
As many B/L/D from stores as possible
Open all the windows to get the most of the sun and fresh air - done
Washing! Always washing - done
Treat mold patches - done. Not as big a job as I thought
Cut the top off the big tree. OH doesn't know he's doing this yet.
Cook chickpeas and black beans - done (separately) in the s/c
Clean small bathroom as OH forgot
Hoover round as it seems messy this week - done
Sort a mistake in my finances where I owe my own paypal £75
Reconcile budget sheet - done
Forgaing!
Sort shed out and try to find tarpaulin
Measure allotment and order sleepers we need - bought them and built the wall!
Book my bike CBT - have emailed them
Deal with some bananas and courgettes
Order some new Le Parfait jar seals
Package up some cds and send them to Ziffit. - done
Have a lovely day all

What did your OH think about the tree thing CLF
I need to break it to mine that the chimney needs sweeping... I will mutter about getting someone in to do it and he will hopefully rush and get his brushes out and save 50 quid or whatever they charge these days.Today I have / will:Early morning dog walk as usualHG raspberries were breakfast fruitMake roasted tomato and chilli sauce - saw fruit flies hovering suspiciously above one of the several bowls of tomatoes sat on the worktop. Investigated and noticed a few going off in there. All now sorted, washed and in the oven with garlic, a couple of chillis, salt and pepper and olive oil. Will sieve and freeze once done.RM surveys stuff - had a big pile of letters and a parcel this morning.Pick beans, they are coming to an end now, check cucumbers as there was one nearly ready to pick the other dayOH will pick the raspberries, they are still going strong. I am going to be digging out some of the yellow ones once they have finished fruiting, as they have become very invasive. DD has offered to rehome some of them
Shopping from Mr S arriving this afternoon, so will need to put all that awayGet camper van ready for a night out tomorrow night, having a family camp in DD1's field. Last time this year I should think, as it is really quite chilly. We have only camped once this year, at DD's again - camp sites don't sit right for me in the current situation
And I should imagine they are pretty overcrowded anyway.Make fish cakes for dinner later.5 -
Good evening all,
@carrielovesfanta, this is a fab little corner of the internet I agree!
@determined_new_ms Good news on the work pattern. Must make it easier to get organised.
@DawnW Have a fab night away.
I'm just feeling a bit in limbo at the minute. Just plodding along with the usual small things
* shared bath water
* out for a long-ish walk in the sunshine by the sea and popped in for a cuppa with my folks (making the most of this time with them as we might not see them much once the kids are back to school)
* all meals from stores, fried egg butties for lunch and hm pizza tonight (used the last of the sliced pepperoni from ds2s birthday at the beginning of the month)
* jumpers on NOT heating - oh my I couldn't believe it when my friend said she'd put her heating on already!
That's it for now, we watched Iron man 1 & 2 again yesterday. Thor this afternoon and dh is just loading up Captain America.
Take care one and all.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.
