That will be the deduction for the carers allowance that you received, which is correct and there's nothing to correct. In a previous comment you said you have kept some of the carers allowance, which is a good thing.tania12 said:

No need to apologise. It’s all DWP and you would expect everything to join up but unfortunately different benefits are administered separately and different benefits have different rules. With UC any overpayment is recoverable even if it results from official error. This reduces the incentive to get things right notwithstanding the harm that can be caused by recovery of overpayments. DWP have discretion not to recover but only in cases of hardship and have, to date, refused almost all requests to exercise such discretion.tania12 said:sorry my apologies i didnt understand that fully, i shall see what happpens when my payments are updated. sorry again
in your case the overpayment could be the carer element of UC for the months since you stopped caring (including the month in which you stopped). It’s just possible that they will decide that because you were being paid CA you should be allowed the carer element - but legally I think that would be incorrect.

Look at your UC statements which explain how your UC payment is calculated. If you told them you were a carer you should have been getting it. it will show as part of the calculation of your maximum UC entitlement before any deductions are made,

so im assuming next month ill get my full uc claim without the 290 deduction? sorry for all the questions hahapoppy12345 said:

That could be the case - but if there has been an overpayment of UC there may be a deduction to start recovering it.tania12 said:

It sounds likely then that you have not been getting the carer element. As previously advised you can check this by looking at your UC statement.tania12 said:i didnt say i was a carer when i applied for uc it was my worker who informed me i was still on the system as been one, she advised i was to get in contact with them again and explain it wich i did another 3 times as when you call them it says to notify changes using their online form then i phoned today and the man on the phone told me it was their error and could see it was notified in june and more times after then told me that nothign will be recovered and to inform uc on my journel tomorrow that hes took me off the system
if you haven’t had the carer element you actually haven't been overpaid benefits in total because the CA has been recovered by deduction from your UC anyway.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.1 -

Your full amount would have been £67.25 per week plus the £270 per month UC.You say children, are they dependant children? Do you own or rent your home? or live with parents?0 -
i kept it as i thought it would be recovered and my children are dependent yes under 5 and i rent my home0

That £270 UC amount seems very low when you rent your home. What elements exactly are you receiving? have a look at your statement on your journal.
