SPEED CAMERA

  • I was looking at Facebook speed camera Dorset, the same exact speed cameras. People keep saying it doesn't work both ways, it's only for receding traffic. It's come to the point where they're calling people "trolls" for asking if it's both ways. Has anyone from experience ever been caught by one of these, oncoming traffic?

I have it on very good authority that that is a redflex camera.
Are redflex cameras rear facing or front facing ? It didn't have any lines on the road.
Redflex is licensed for both directions simultaneously. It is up to the user whether it is used in that mode. It uses ground sensor loops hence no road markings
It is also capable of monitoring multiple vehicles at the same time.
Is the one I've took images of redflex or something else ? Even if it's redflex, is it allowed to flash twice front facing from the opposite side of the road with a bright light ?
Yes Redflex can work as front facing and rear facing at the same time if the operators wish.
where did you get this information from ? I cant seem to find any info on redflex. It doesn't state anywhere if it's front facing or rear facing. It just states that it's capable of front facing. So is the gatso but that's not approved in the UK for front facing. I thought front facing white camera flash isn't approved by home office? Am I correct ?

Ask the local speed camera partnership.  Don't go looking on facebook for answers, you'll get worse answers than here

That doesn't answer the question. The features listed may not be approved for use in the UK. FWIW I believe Iqqyhaque is right- front-facing white flash is not approved.
