Well done for speaking with work. Stability is everything when there's family and a mortgage to pay. Hopefully you won't need to wait too long.

£65.86 op made to round down to £67,800 I’ll probably do another £100 this Friday just so then I’ll have paid my first £2.000 off the capital! Not bad for less than 6 months as a homeowner! £68,078 would have been my end of year one balance if I’d have just made the standard payments so I’ve smashed that!!! £66,418 would be the end of year 2... I wonder if I can get there by 17th August which is my one year anniversary!

Had a bit of a disagreement in work the other night over where a patient should be. A newly promoted band 6 who is quite young but in the click was super aggressive in my face and made me feel like such an idiot. I sobbed all the way home. I was thinking of putting in a complaint about it to the manager but I Cba starting anything with her being one of the loud ones and in a gang I could make a lot of enemies by saying something. It’s unfair though as I don’t know who was in the right or wrong we just had different opinions on a clinical decision but the way she acted was inappropriate and bullying.

Loft fund hasn’t really progressed this week as it’s direct debit week. Week 2 and 3 of the month are the best for me financially xx

Good reduction on the mortgage, took me 8 months according to my calculations; my lender does annual statements.

Less experienced supervisors tend to bark, most settle down as time goes by. Whilst it's easier said than done, don't let her get to you and next time let her decision go. If it's a mistake, then she will learn.

Thanks yeah I know.. I’ll just avoid the stuck up little moo in future.

I’ve just loosely calculated and even with me just doing my £66ish a month op I’d still be at the end of year 2 balance before August so that’s encouraging.

Hello diary! Got my payslip for tomorrow and it’s not the best with just being one shift. I can only do one a week for the rest of the tax year so this is it for the next 8 weeks I’ll have to be especially frugal! It was DS bday on Monday so at least that’s all the kids birthdays out the way until November 🙂

I got a £111 refund to the credit card for last years holiday deposit which never happened and isn’t happening this year either so I’ve been wondering what to do. I had kept saying I was going to buy myself something once back in work but that never happens. I spent an hour or 2 comparing smart watches and the one I want is the dearest at £369 so I’ve decided I’ll leave that for now as since I’ve gained weight whenever I ‘treat myself’ it’s always to a new watch as watches don’t care how large I am. So now I’ve decided the £111 will be spent towards living expenses this week. It’s in credit you see so needs using at some point I don’t think you’re supposed to just leave it there.

Dd1 has gone back to school and it’s had a great impact on us both! She really needed the routine and social aspect of school. It also means she’s sleeping properly too! It’s only 3 days a week so a nice compromise to ease her in. I’m waiting on the primary school to get back over the other 2 doing one or two days a week as they’re just not engaging with home school either and it stresses me out.

The job that fell through got in touch saying they still want me and if they can resolve the issue would I still be willing to work for them? I said yes but I won’t be jumping through anymore hoops and I won’t start prior to 8th March when kids are at school either. I don’t hold out much hope but we’ll see what happens. I’m not too bothered either way.

Other than that there’s not a lot to report. DP wants to get in the loft to measure up but he’s not been well the last couple of days and has slept a lot. Think it’s just the stress of lockdown tbh makes him hybernate.

Aww well that’s my update for the week. Hopefully make a £100 op next week when I get the 2nd bonus but it depends on my deductions as I haven’t worked anywhere near as much in January as December. February will be even less.

  • I don't blame you for not wanting to jump through hoops. If they do come back with another offer, get it in writing that the previous issue has been taken into account and they're taking you on with full knowledge of it.

The new tax year will soon be here and then you can go back to more shifts. It's wise to spend the refund getting through the next few months.

Yes I will do that thanks! I only want to try it for the learning opportunity so I’m not overly emotionally invested if they don’t want me.

Primary school have got back to me! the other 2 can go on Monday-Wednesday which I’m happy with. DD2 is currently in her room having a meltdown because she doesn’t want to go. This is the problem with making school ‘optional’... the pandemic is going to cause problems for millions of kids for years to come. She was the one that loved school out of the 3 of them so it’s quite sad.

Tell the kids it's not optional and as a parent you're saying it's compulsory 😁

Don't feel as though you have to rush to use the credit balance on the card. Alternatively, you can just call the provider and ask for it to be transferred into your current account. It's your money and they can't hang on to it or give you deadlines to spend it. With your income down, I would just spend as normal and gradually use it up that way
    Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
Cleared 🧚‍♀️🧚‍♀️🧚‍♀️!!! In 5 years, 1 month and 29 days
Total amount repaid: £72,307.03. £1.10 repaid for every £1.00 borrowed

Finally earning interest instead of paying it!!!
  • I got a refund on my holiday and asked the CC company to transfer the £ to my current account as I wanted it and they did it no problems, meant I didn't feel like I had to spend on my card for the sake of it to use the balance.

Agreed re the job, is good news but don't jump through hoops when they have messed you around.
