The 3% is good and the little bit of interest each month is a welcome bonus, just don't do as I did and accidentally take some out of it instead of the account I meant to; unfortunately that money can't be replaced unless you put in less than the max that month.
Good luck with the last part of the interview. There are some good, cheap laptops about, especially when it's just needed to connect to their server / systems.
@Elephantchunks I do try! If there's a negative I always look for the hidden positive, then it doesn't seem as bad as it seemed initially 😊Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -
Hi! Thanks for all the replies. DP has upgraded my laptop to windows 10 but it’s still really slow. He’s now out picking up some free RAM to speed it up. He’s determined to keep it going so I’ll let him try. He said no matter what I’m not allowed a computer ‘on tick’ (finance). We got dd1 pc off a rubbish removal and it was brand new all in one pc worth £1000. Come to think of it 90% of our belongings are from rubbish removals which is why we begrudge buying anything new.Works been busy but I coped. I’ve got the interview in the morning which I still need to do some prep for but I’m overcome with anxiety tiredness right now so I’ll do it later.I opened the natwest 3% account and set up £10 weekly SO plus I have £10 a week going to the HMRC help to save so that’ll be £1040 + interest and bonus a year saved with no effort at all. This weeks pay will take me to a positive balance but I’m going to keep living as if I’m skint until I have a chunk of money to do a project on the house. I don’t want to do anything whilst it’s freezing anyway then need to decide between loft and kitchen hopefully by April time.Mortgage started August 2020 £69,700

Definitely don't do finance for things which only have a short lifespan and need upgrading, there's plenty of refurb ones around. I picked up my full PC set up for under £60 incl P&P.
Nothing wrong with previously loved items, saves a fortune.
I'm pleased you've got your savings set up, that will reduce stress levels knowing there's money in the bank.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.1 -
Good morning! Well DP has overhauled the laptop so hopefully it’ll work for the interview. It now has windows 10, 8gb of ram and a new (2nd hand obvs) solid state hard drive for a total cost of £20. Hopefully it’ll make life easier for home schooling now too although the kids are having the morning off today whilst I sort myself out and do the interview!I’ve slept awful but I know I will feel better after 12 o clock. I’m not too bothered about getting the job. If I do it will give me an opportunity to learn new things and better career progression. If I don’t then I’m happy as I am for another year then will take a permanent a&e post.Oh well I’ll keep my diary updated later! XxxMortgage started August 2020 £69,700

Haha well it didn’t work on their platform but we went over to skype and it worked lol. I am so relieved it’s over. Sick of having different stresses on my head that I put myself through. Now I have none 🤞🏼Yeah he’s done good. It’ll do the kids well for home schooling so a couple of hundred spend avoided. I’m now gonna chill and find a Netflix series to devour before I’m back in work on Saturday! I think this is my first row of stress free days off in a looooong time 😊 xxMortgage started August 2020 £69,700

Sorry I don’t like to be a spammer who updates 20 times a day but I am so happy right now. I haven’t had this happy feeling in my body for a long time 😊 the future is filled with possibility now!I’ll have a salary of £21k part time plus another £10k ish if I keep up the bank work just a Sunday shift. My ccj drops off in July so that puts me in a really good position to save up and pay off a lump sum and hopefully get a decent fix in March next year! When I do go into the office it is based in the same building as my lecturers from my masters are based so I am basically in the same work/ life balance situation as when I done the masters but actually getting paid this time!I’ve gone all out and bought a full leg of lamb from the butchers and 2 cushions from tesco to celebrate! We’re looking forward to our home made mint sauce which we made the other week when we got all those free mushrooms and tomatoes too!Mortgage started August 2020 £69,700
